This case is awesome; beautiful AND functional. Very sturdy and I like the five latches. Dimensions have changed from those published by musicians friend: Height is now about 46 inches, not 42. So it will fit epiphones with those honkin' big headstocks now. Neither does it carry the badge near the handle anymore. They must have listened to past feedback to change those: I read those comments in reviews. That being said, I would have preferred the 42 inch height for my Gibson 335 and to have the badge.

Well built wooden case. The design of the fit is incorrect for a 335 style guitar (the intended body style for this case). The neck support near the heel was about 1/2 inch too high so those headstock was about an inch too high to allow the lid to close. Really bad fit. However I needed a working case immediately, so I opted to modify it rather than return it. The neck support is made of stiff foam, so I was able to slit the velour covering with an exact knife and cut down the "C" shape enough to position the headstock safely. Now it fits and it works. But I had to sacrifice the warrantee to make it work. You guys make cases. GET THIS STRAIGHTENED OUT.

Nice case....but beware! Not for Epiphone Swingster

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

I got this case as part of a private purchase with an Epiphone Swingster Black Royale. The original purchase was made thru MF. I do not recommend this case for the Swingster series. You can not get the case to close with the Bigsby wire bar installed. Not really a big deal but even with it removed the lid still puts pressure on the Bigsby assy. as well as the strings and bridge. also the neck supports do not allow the body to fully seat in the bout. Since this was a private purchase I was stuck....no problem I have an Epiphone Dread case which fits well and can be closed with the wire bar installed. That said after reading the reviews I saw one by a person who bought it for a reissue Harmony Rocket and modified it. Here is what worked for me. I removed the neck supports and lowered them 5/8ths of an inch this also lowers the lid on the storage compartment. Then I removed the lining from the bottom of the bout and removed the styrofoam and foam padding and reglued the lining on. Then I removed the upper lining and decreased the pad which rests on the Bigsby/bridge area when closed by one half. Then glued the lining back in place. Fits perfect now, but I still need to remove the Bigsby wire bar...however you do not have to force the lid down the latch. This takes about an hour and basic tools and 3M spray adhesive. This is a nice case for the money and does have a cutout for the Bigsby on the back of the rear bout. It should work with a regular Bigsby but not with the version on the Swingster. Recommended but not for the Swingster.

        wrong size.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

nice enough case, but the page says 4 inch depth....which apparently does not mean that it can hold a 4" deep guitar. perhaps they thought to list the dimensions of the case and not the guitar that can fit inside of it? does that make any sense at all?

fits my fender Starcaster great with no modifications...no wiggle room at all..., like everyone else, had to lower the pocket by about an inch. took almost ten minutes to do this.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

First, it doesn't fit a Loar LH-650. The case is deep enough by the bridge, but at the neck it is about an inch and a half shallower. Even though the specifications check out (4" case, 3.75" guitar), there was no way that guitar was going to fit, even after modifications described in the other reviews. However, it is a beautiful case though, with a chunky padded handle and a very solid shell, for a great price. It definitely will do its job. I would recommend this to somebody with a semi-hollowbody any day, just not a deep hollowbody.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Archtop Hollowbody Guitar Case:

              Excellent case for the money!

I recently traded one of my guitars for an old hollow-body from the 70s and I needed to buy a case for it. I saw this for cheap and with very good reviews, so I bought it. It arrived very fast with no hassle.

The first thing I did was check for cosmetic defects, the only thing I found was an askew latch. It's not that big of a deal, I just have to add a little strength to force it to close sometimes.

I then tried the lock, and almost decided to sent the case back. It would not lock no matter how hard I turned the key, and I was putting a lot of strength into it. Finally I turned the key as hard as I could. The key bent, but the case locked. I was then able to effortlessly unlock the case. I can now lock it an unlock it with ease, it was just jammed for some reason the first time. I was also able to straighten the key out, so no problem with that either.

My guitar fits in the case perfectly. It is very snug and does not move around in the case. The case itself is also quite study, much higher quality than I expected. The padding is also of a higher quality than I had expected of a case with this price.

The part of the case where the head-stock is located is much larger than it needs to be, and three 20ft cables could easily be stored there. The compartment under the guitars neck is also quite large and I have been able to fit 2 tuners, 2 capos, 2 tins of picks, 3 slides, a string winder, a pan flute, and a harmonica all in there at the same time. This could not be done with any of my other cases.

The only problem is that this case is heavy. With my guitar in it, it's actually heavy than the main amp I use. Whereas my amp is heavier than my other guitar/case configurations. But it isn't too heavy to carry around.

Overall, a great buy. I am very happy with this purchase. Yes, there are better hard-shell cases, but for the price this one is excellent.
