I love this case and I bought it because of the price and the many many positive reviews. I'd been looking for a while but most cases in this price range look feel and perform like you'd expect but this case is in a different league. One review I read the guy talked about being over 200lbs. and standing on top to test it, noting the case passed with flying colors. I wouldn't do that but I have no doubt they are being truthful as this case is so well built for the price I almost think they sent me the wrong one. But no mistake was made, this IS the case I ordered and it is as good or better then a $150 or $200 case easy; and that's not just lip service. You can't disguise the true quality of a case when you get your hands on one, cheap cases are flimsy and not well padded with cheap latches and appointments. This case is the opposite in each and every way possible, it is very well made, sturdy, stiff and fairly heavy too. The interior padding is thick and substantial and the emerald green crushed velvet interior is just more beautiful then I can express.

I am still sort of stunned and surprised by the quality and quantity of the latches. There are no less then SIX count em SIX latches. I've actually seen a couple of reviews complaining about this and it made me laugh, I'll take all six thank you very much. Four and five latches are good, six is better plain and simple.

You could take this case to any number of experienced musicians and ask "How much do you think this case costs?" and you're going to get $150 to $200 every time, it's simply that well built. One guy said he weighs over 200lbs. and stood on top of it to test it and it passed with ease. Although I myself wouldn't go that far to test the quality I have no doubt it is true, you can just see and feel how well built this case is.

As always MF gave me a great price, sent it with free shipping, no tax and got it to me faster then any company I have ever worked with which is standard practice at MF they do it every time. MF doesn't mess around when it comes to shipping, you buy it and the product is out their doors and shipped before the day is out with an email sent letting you know before you can check. It took only two days and it was at my door smiling back at me AMAZING really.

Understand this case isn't for the touring musician, it's not a road case or a flight case but I it will do very well in almost any other situation from the local gigger to the Tuesday night open jammer.

Make no mistake a standard dreadnought will fit like a glove in a glove, zero movement within the case ZERO. I didn't want a case where my guitar flops around inside during travel,if that had been the ...case ...I would have returned it in a second.

Bottom line if you're looking for a good solid case for you dread you can spend more if you want but you won't get a better case even for much more money.

One more thing. I have read one or two people that were concerned that the case isn't deep enough to fit a 4.5 deep dread but that is NOT an issue at all. My dread is almost a full 5 inches in depth and the guitar fits perfectly in the case, there is no lack of depth in the case itself as far as holding a dread safely none. You can expect your dread to fit without issue so buy with confidence this case is a world beater.

Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case

This is an OK case for the money, it will protect and serve. I had to pull out the foam and put in additional foam to make a tight fit for my guitar.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

Very satisfied with this beautiful case. Can't imagine a better case for even twice the money paid. The internal padding is just right for my Takamine dreadnought and the double neck support is a great design over most all other cases I researched. The interior fabric looks great but most importantly is protects as it should. It's not furry & fluffy like other cases which is good because the furry stuff gets padded down & compacted which ultimately won't remain as tight a fit as this. Therefor this case will hold the guitar more firmly for a longer period of time. The extra latches are terrific, work perfectly, and everything lines up perfectly as well. Overall I couldn't be more satisfied and if I needed another acoustic case I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

I have not taken it on the road yet. I will also take a flight this summer so I will see how it fair then. However, the case seems very well constructed and sturdy and my Ibanez Acoustic/Electric fits like a glove.
Even though some might disagree, i really like the six sturdy gold locks!

Comments about Silver Creek Vintage Dreadnought Archtop Case:

Folks, this is a good case. What could make it better is a little better quality control.

The good: It's an excellent fit for my Epiphone DR-500MCE. The padding is very good, and the crushed velvet interior, although not as soft as some other interiors, looks very nice and is certainly soft enough for it's purpose. The latches are of good quality (there are 6), so when this case is closed, it is securely closed. It can also be locked. Another nice feature is a very comfortable, padded leather handle - no plastic here. Finally, this case cradles the guitar neck at 2 points, so there is even less chance of damage to the guitar.

The con: This case has an average sized accessory compartment - neither good, nor bad - but here is where the quality control could be just a little better. I had to send my first case back because the lid of the compartment was too big. It was so tight, I had to fight to get it open and closed. Customer service took very good care of me, and a new case was sent. The second case was better, but the lid is still very snug, so I have to push back the lining a little as I close it. I consider it a small issue at this point, because everything else about the case makes it a very good case. I deducted a star for the accessory compartment lid issue, because it was an issue on both of the cases that I received.

In the end, I would still recommend this case.

I am currently deployed and this fits my fender cd140sce like a glove. small enough to throw in the back of a truck with everyone's gear and sturdy enough to not worry about my guitar getting damaged. I also did not read on the description but this case also locks.

Protecting an expensive instrument is of primary importance. This case does the job very well. The hard shell prevents punctures and scrapes while the velvet interior babys the guitar's finish.
