Comments about SIT Strings NR45105L Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Bass Strings:

These strings can be trusted to sound exactly the same with every set you put on your rig. They carry the lows beautifully with no harsh highs. What you get for this price range is beyond compare, as far as I am concerned. Great "piano like" tone.

Comments about SIT Strings NR45105L Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Bass Strings:

I bought a set of these and dropped them on my Epiphone EB-3 for the same reason I bought the bass. Because thats basically what Jack Bruce used. Granted his bass was a Gibson but mine has had real Gibson pups installed along with a Hipshot bridge so its not your run of the mill Epiphone either. Anyway I was very happy with the setup. The SIT strings play well and are quite flexible with great tone and balance so I know why Jack used and endorsed these. I haven't had them on for long enough to comment on the longevity so I may update this after 6 months of shows but really who cares when they're so affordable? While I do have other basses strung with Thomastics and LaBellas, these are by far the best strings I've found in this price point and, for me at least, they'll be the brand that stays on that particular bass for a long while.

Use these on a Fender Jazz, works for all types of music. Great tonal range.

Comments about SIT Strings NR45105L Medium Light Power Wound Nickel Bass Strings:

After many years of using D'Addario EXL 165's I've made a permeant switch!
I don't know why I waited so long to give these a try, I tried just about every other string but kept returning to D'Addario but these have won out! Both strings are very good. Both last and are consistent, but there is a character to the sound of the S.I.T.'s I just love. They allow a more aggressive attack than the 165's and also respond nicely to a soft attack, so overall a more versatile string. Plenty of beef for rock but also a nice snap for slap. It's a more "old school" slap tone than say DR's but still bright on the top end without being harsh. Truthfully I know why I waited, for some reason I had a perception of S.I.T.'s being "budget" strings, nothing could be further from the truth! American made and every bit the quality of the other major manufacturers. I just wish M.F. had the XL version and the 5 string sets to fit all my basses.
