Got a set of these and replaced the 6th string with an 0.048" one to match the Willie Adler Signature set (at a lower price).

As a lifelong Ernie Ball user and current Dunlop fanboy, it was very pleasing to have a set of strings that was immediately ready for use on tuning. About 1.5 windings around the tuning peg on the wound strings and about 2 windings around the tuning peg for the plain strings and they were ready for takeoff.

What surprised me most about these strings was that they, well, they Stay In Tune. I spent hours bending and thrashing away trying to get the strings to go out of tune and it took a LOT of work to get them just a little out of tune.

What disappointed me was that if the strings had much more than the windings mentioned, they would go out of tune with ease. Had to restring that 6th string to remove slack (afterwards, it was all E all the time). Also, the strings are quite warm, so they needed help on a mahogany guitar (help with more brightness is always a Dunlop 477P505 Primetones pick away).

Still, though, a semi-finicky warm string that is ready before the excess is nipped off the tuning pegs and stays in tune through hours of ham-handed idiocy is a very nice string.

Well i got a set of these strings less than a week ago to replace 2 that i'd broken. At first i was thrilled with the quality and the sound. However i did have to tune my strat about 12 times within a half hour of putting the strings on. Well getting to the point i've only had them for mayb 5 days and already one has broken. And it was in tune (not to tight) and i wasn't playing very roughly. DO NOT BUY THESE STRINGS. they do not last. I don't plan on buying them ever again and i wouldn't recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to replace them in a few days.

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I've used these strings since I started playing nearly 5 years ago and I stray from them once then pu them back on 2 days later. Theses strings are not only amazing for the crazy cheap price but they are good for any price. I use a Schecter hellraiser FR and everyone who uses a floys knows it can play hell with strings. Theses don't even flinch. I used Ernie's and Di's and nothing holds up like these do. I have yet to have them break on me and over all the years I've used them I only got 1 bad pack with one bad string in it. I used to buy the ones made for Floyed Rose from a local shop but i was paying 25 a pack until they added them on here for this great low price. I suggest these strings highly not only for people with Floyds but for every guitar. Bend whammy do what ever you want. As long as your guitar isn't messed up you will never have a tunning issue.

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been using Gibson strings and was not satisfied with all the streach I was getting. I soldered the acher end of these SIT strings like I normally do on all my re-stringing and the next day I was thrilled to find my guitar still in tune. I didn't even have to per-streach these new strings. Just like the name SIT (stay-in-tune).

If you were to ever compile a list of the best electric guitar strings available, then S.I.T. Power Wound strings would have to be in the Top 3. So, if you're shopping for strings to experiment with then you MUST consider these.

SIT S1046 power nickel electric guitar strings

          By Danny Newman

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

Overall, I love these (SIT) strings and their quality and their value is unbeatable at Musicians Friends prices.
These have been my favorite strings for along time. Once they are stretched properly, they tend to stay in tune very well. Great sounding strings. This is the only brand I buy.
These are really great quality guitar strings. Have used them a long time and love them. The tone seems to last a long time, also.
The price Musicians Friend charges for these strings is fantastic. If I would buy them locally, the would cost $8.00 to $10.00 per pack or more. There is abslutely no complaints from me about the value of the strings when bought at Musicians Friend.

20+ years and no complaints. I've probably bought over 300 sets and I keep coming back.

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I keep 14 guitars going. SIT strings make it easy to keep the strings in playing condition at a price I can actually afford. SIT manufactures a wide range of string types- I wish MF offered more selections, especially the Stainless Steel, which are the best bright string I have ever gotten my fingers on.
You can't buy better at any price. The sound is just right- I love bright and twangy highs with solid lows
Never a complaint about these strings! Totally Consistent Intonation. Great sound. Excellent string life. Outrageously good price. Even after changing to other brands, I always come back to SIT.
$4 for a full set is an incredible budget-friendly deal.

          Just Plain Good

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I have a small collection of affordable hollowbodies. (My fave is an Ibanez AK-95 (solid spruce top, flame sycamore sides and back), Ibby pups, standard jazzbox stuff. I stumbled onto SIT "Jazz Lights" 5 years ago. The strings make the Ibby come alive, as it does great things for my Epi ES-175 reissue, too. While they're not the S1046 Power Nickel, they are first cousins, and bring out the voice in my guitars better than any of the other major string mfg's. Actually, the only other string that comes close to the SIT's is a Thomastik-Infeld jazz bebops that cost about 3x as much per set.

I have been using ghs, ernie ball and other strings (mostly ghs boomers)for 20+years. I am very impressed with these strings and have put them on all my guitars. I get effortless harmonics, even on the guitars that I don't play or change strings that often on. Awsome strings!

          AMAZED

          By Anonymous

          from Undisclosed

Comments about SIT Strings S1046 Power Nickel Electric Guitar Strings:

I bought these at my local music store because they were on sale (2 sets of strings, 3 .50 picks, SIT's orange oil polish and conditioner which does wonders for your guitar, and a polishing guitar.) now I was a true believer and user of Ernie Ball's but, after putting these on, I immediately noticed how much better they felt than the Ernie Balls...then hearing them through my amp, I was even more impressed with the sound. Definately will continue to buy SIT strings. and, although I never had trouble with strings really going out of tune, the people that are complaining about strings dieing quickly, breaking, or falling out of tune, have probably set their strings up wrong, or not took care of them. simply read the instructions on the back of the package or maybe even youtube the proper way to install strings (increases life, less chance of breakage, holds tune, AND, you won't have to tune your guitar a dozen times when you 1st put the strings on)
