OVERVIEW

Durable 600-denier exterior with a rigid-foam interior designed to fit your dreadnought.

The SKB 1SKB-SC18 guitar case fits most dreadnought acoustic guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a soft gig bag and backpack.

All SKB soft guitar cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional guitar gigbag.

The SKB 1SKB-SC18's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged acoustic guitar on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

  • Heavy-duty double pull zipper
  • Molded EPS interior with plush lining
  • Durable 600-denier exterior layered with rigid foam
  • 2 convenient exterior accessory pouches

I had to write a review for this case.
I checked a lot of cases online both soft and hard for my Seagull acoustic, then decided to purchase this one. It's not a perfect fit but with some extra stuffing it sits securely as does my Washburn.
The inside of this case is strong and beautiful with the same design as most hard cases at a lot less weight. It has two LARGE compartments that will fit most anything you will need to transport with an acoustic. The exterior may or may not be waterproof but I don't think (:outside of using it as a floating device:) a little water will hurt it. The zippers are strong and glide well and the stitching seems flawless. The padded, backpack straps tighten up with a pull so they don't hang while using the handle or to tighten on your back. So if you want a great, soft case that is made well (although a bit bulky) at a great price and don't mind throwing in a little extra padding if needed (I use a soft towel) then by all means buy this one. Just be sure to check demensions in case you have a very large guitar.

Comments about SKB Acoustic Guitar Soft Case:

I'm a huge fan of SKB, everything they make is built to withstand a serious amount of use. This case definitely meets those expectations, the design is just a little awkward...
When opening the case, the zipper is tight and takes some getting used to around the corners. Once the case is open, it doesn't like to stay still or stay open. There are so many compartments on the front of it, it rolls towards the lid every time.. especially if you have those front pockets loaded up. Just makes it interesting when packing and unpacking the guitar.
However, I still believe this is the best gig bag on the market. It is a very tough "soft case". It's perfect if you have to do any walking to rehearsals or gigs. The straps are sown in rather than clipped on, and the case is very comfortable on your back. The compartments on the front have their purpose. I don't think these sites show you that the large front pocket has a bunch of little ones inside, like your Jansport back pack growing up.. There is a pocket for a pack of strings, pocket for business cards, pockets for picks, pen and pencil slots, and the big pocket holds my music and iPad.
It really is a great case, and definitely worth the money. SKB did not slack on material, the design is just a little flawed and takes some getting used to. All I know is that I am very protective of my Taylor and so is this case, so I'm happy with the purchase.

Comments about SKB Acoustic Guitar Soft Case:

I bought this specific case because it has the sewn in backpack straps instead of the d-ring clip on straps that rip my hair out.

Overall, it's a good case, but built a bit sloppy. The zipper takes some patience - it gets hung up on the padding and on the hinges, etc... I've gotten used to it after a few uses though.

As many have said - it's way too big for the guitars it's intended to carry. Even more so than I thought it would be after reading the other reviews. You can really feel your guitar bouncing around in there when you're walking. Easily remedied, of course, by throwing a rag in. I just roll up my strap in stick it in the cutaway area - works alright.

Some of the pockets in the outside storage area are useless, so tight you couldn't cram a rolling paper in there, but who cares.

I use public transportation, so guitar is always getting banged into things and I feel totally safe that my guitar is secure, and THAT's what's important.

Great Case

Comments about SKB Acoustic Guitar Soft Case:

I bought this case for my Taylor 414ce. It fits pretty well. There is a little extra wiggle room at the base, it I always pack an old cotton t-shirt to wipe down the guitar and this fills in the gap nicely. The size specs in the description are pretty spot on. This case is basically a rigid case with backpack style straps, which is exactly what I was looking for. If you are wanting a softer case, this is not for you.
It has plenty of extra storage in the exterior pockets plus a bin under the neck like you would normally find in a hard case.
I haven't had it long, but so far it seems to be holding up well.

Comments about SKB Acoustic Guitar Soft Case:

I have a Taylor 414ce, and the Taylor case is quite heavy! I bought this case at the recommendation of a friend. The only thing about it is that it's slightly too big for my guitar. I had a little wiggle room on either side. Just so happens that the pouch for accessories on the inside wasn't big enough for my big leather strap, so putting it between the guitar and outside of the case stopped it from moving. I love how light it is, and would recommend it to anyone

Comments about SKB Acoustic Guitar Soft Case:

Purchased as a birthday gift for my 12-year old son. He inherited his great-grandfathers' mid-1960's Gibson J45 acoustic. I only include this info because we were looking for a case that would provide excellent protection, yet be light-weight enough for him to easily carry to lessons, practice, etc.

This case fit the bill perfectly. It snugly holds the J45, is very plush, and seems to be durable. His teacher was impressed, too.

Additionally, the service and shipping by Musician's Friend is without equal. Thanks for getting the case to me on time (actually a day early.)

This company was highly recommended by a friend of mine. Guys, you now have another satisfied customer. We will definitely shop here again and will readily recommend.
