I read other reviews which indicated that it was made from material that was too flimsy. I agree! I can see that a hard hit could go through the shell of the case. I have Gator TSA cases for all my other keyboards. Even though I have had some issues with the handles on those cases (which Gator corrected), the shells of those cases seem as though they will hold up well. This is not true with this case.
In addition, the case lacks rigidity to the point that when you close it, you have to force the top over the latches so everything lines up.
However, it is the only hard shell case I found for the AX-Synth. With its short comings, I think it will still provide better protection than the soft cases. It really comes down to how much you are willing to spend on a little more protection.
I would not let this case be packed under any other gear, it is just too light. A positive is that it weighs almost nothing.

This case is almost a joke for it's price. When I took it out of the box with high hopes that I could throw this thing through a moving car's window and it still not have a scratch on it like a Guild case I was sadly mistaken. Now, don't get me wrong. The case has a lock feature which is pretty good but there is even a problem with that! The locks are plastic! This means anyone could get in if they really want to with a box cutter! My main problem other then this is the price. I myself could have made this exact same item or even better for less!
