Durable 600-denier exterior with a rigid-foam interior designed for an LP-style guitar.

The SKB 1SKB-SC56 fits Les Paul-style guitars and offers the superior protection of the very same rigid foam inserts found in SKB's hardshell guitar case line, but with the style and portability of a soft gig bag and backpack.

All SKB soft guitar cases feature a rugged, weather-resistant, 600-denier ballistic nylon exterior with a hard-core EPS foam interior to provide more substantial protection than a conventional gig bag.

The SKB 1SKB-SC56's exterior features two zippered pouches, one with numerous internal compartments for organized accessory storage, and an adjustable padded backpack strap for easy transport. The hard foam interiors are plush-lined and offer full-neck support to cradle the guitar neck more securely than a conventional bag. The SKB guitar case also has 3 rubber feet for standing your bagged Les Paul-type electric guitar on it's side without worrying about it tipping over.

Comments about SKB LP Type Guitar Soft Case:

Nice...I have a SKB case for each of my electric gtrs and my bass...major downside is the pocket is too small to hold a standard size file folder...thus any charts you have need to be folded-up, or stored elsewhere. But overall, a very nice case, just misses perfect.

Comments about SKB LP Type Guitar Soft Case:

This bag is a combination of our two usual case types. Take the insides of the traditional hardshell case, and cover it with cordura and a zipper instead of ABS plastic and metal rails. Suddenly, you have a great case. Now make it an SKB case, and it's even better. It's not going to scratch your walls, car, paint, or wood floors either. I use this case for travel from home to rehearsal/gigging. At the house my guitars are on the wall, and it sits in a closet with the rest of my cases when they're not being used.

It opens by unzipping around the case where you'd usually find your 5 latches. Inside it's exactly what you expect out of a fitted LP style case. The guitar is held snugly in place and there's no wobble with either of my LP guitars. The traditional flip-up pocket under the neck is present and is large enough for a good strap, strings, and trem bar(if needed). You have pockets on the outside for cables, pedals, screwdriver/wrench kit etc.

The backpack straps I love but are also the only source of complaint on this case. They're well padded, well stitched, make even my 11# beast of an LP Trad Pro, easy to carry, but unlike my gigbags I can't put the straps away in a pocket, so even pulled tight against the case, there's something to catch on. A minor complaint really for a great case. The price is annother complaint, but it's an SKB with a lifetime warranty, so the extra Jackson over a "quality" polyfoam case is well worth it for this one, or the same price as the Epiphone LP case(I'm not sure why the Epiphone case is half the cost of the Gibson case)

I can only speak for this case with a Les Paul, a Singlecut, and an Agile 3200, though if it fits the real thing and and two very excellent in the tradition of guitars, it should do fine for any LP style guitar. I wouldn't want to let my guitars get run over or jumped on in this case as SKB has demonstrated on their site, but I feel a lot better knowing they're inside this case than a gigbag or the traditional wooden LP cases.

I do wish they made an SG version, rather than expecting SG's to go in the universal case instead with a sloppy fit.

Excellent Hard/Soft Hybrid Case for the Traveling / Working Musician

        By Bryan Berry

        from Brooklyn, NY

Comments about SKB LP Type Guitar Soft Case:

Excellent case. Highly recommended if you like the portable features of a gig bag but want a bit more mental assurance that your instrument is as secure and comfortable as it can be. For thye price, this is an excellent purchase.
Features: lots of them. Case includees standard hard case interior pocket under the neck. Exterior features two pockets - one of which contains multiple organizational extra's such as pencil / pen holders and small velcro compartments and slits. A very nice design for easy access to tools for composition, maintnence, and such without having to actually open the guitar case. In addition, a long narrow pocket at the neck offers scratch free storage (especially if you use strap-Locks) for a heavy duty strap.
Top notch SKB quality. I'm not worried. I mean, don't pretend its a flight case or anything - and I'll abstain from ranting about airline neglect and disrespect of traveling musicians for the time being.
It is a bit pricy, but honeslty, I don't now and don't foresee ever regretting this purchase. As a musician that has to travel into, out of, and around nyc subways and airports, I've honed in on methods of efficiency. This case is a fantastic hybrid case with ALL the conveiniences of a gig bag in transport confort and efficiency while offering added physical security and peice of mind.

        SKB Les Paul Soft Case

        By BRoweLowNote

        from South Carolina

Comments about SKB LP Type Guitar Soft Case:

I purchased this case for a Epiphone Les Paul PRO F/X model. I've never been a fan of hard cases for guitars at this price point... Of course if it were a Gibson Axcess - I'd buy a $300 flight case. My impression of the SKB case is that it basically has the same "inner" as a hard case. The Les Paul fit very well and when closed will absolutely NOT shift around. It appears to be very well made with a nicely designed zipper that almost goes totally around the circumference of the case. There is the typical inside compartment under the neck that can hold a decent amount of strings, peg winder, etc. There are also two outside pockets which are really large. The lower pocket has the typical "backpack" weird pockets assembly for stuff like pens/pencils, booklets? Not sure why so many gigbags have that kind of thing? I guess maybe they think we use our gigbags/cases to carry administrative tools? The other long neck pocket could hold a couple of normal sized pedals at the very least. The center of balance of the case with guitar is perfects. I don't carry my guitar on my back so I didn't try out the backpack straps, but they do look rugged enough. At the end of the day, I feel completely safe using this case... Very well made, fantastic fit for my instrument, and MORE than enough room to carry everything you need to carry in a case/gigbag.

        Best Idea Ever!

Comments about SKB LP Type Guitar Soft Case:

This is basically a hardshell case that's conformed into a gig bag with backpack straps! It's solid, sturdy construction is absolutely amazing! Making gigging from club to club easier than ever before! Plenty of room for Fender folding guitar stand, picks, strings, you name it! Fits almost all LP Style guitars. I have fit an Agile Les Paul, Epiphone Les Paul, and Ibanez Art100 in this case perfectly and safely. I trust this case more than I trust any of my cases! Solid! Highly recommended!
