I was really disappointed with this rack. I have purchased a number of SXB X-Racks in the past, but this product, at least compared to them, is sub-standard at best. Flimsy mounting rails (screws go into little plastic pockets that are very weak), poor alignment/drilling of the mounting holes, etc. Everything about this case screams "2nd rate".

This is a convenient case. It's built like a tank on every side and has a back panel that can be easily removed but also easily locked into place. I feel very secure putting my stuff in this, and with the handles on the sides it's light and easy to carry. There's room in the back to toss in extra cables and other trinkets you might be using as well. True, there's no hard lid on the top, only a clothy nylon cover, but since the top is angled for your mixer, what heavy object were you going to drop on your mixer anyway?There's one main drawback to this device. Unlike a metal rack, the SKB solid plastic design makes it rather difficult to plug and unplug things into the back of the modules on my rack. Here's me, bending over the top of my mixer, shining a flashlight into the dim nether reaches of the SKB's interior. I think this is one thing that could have been better thought about.Other than that, a solid and useful case.

I returned the SKB-106DJ DJ Station the day after it arrived. I too was surprised by the nylon cover instead of a hard lid. I should have looked more carefully at the picture. I thought I would just make due with it but when I went to put my mixer in, the holes didn't match up at all with the rack kit. I was not impressed.

This case is great. It carries all my gear. All I do is connect my speakers and I'm on. Talk about strong. This case is crash proof. I actually tripped while carrying the case and fell. I figured I was in for a heavy repair bill. Nope. I plugged in and everything was fine thanks to this case. Keep up the good work.P.S. I made I hard 1/4 inch plywood top cover so if anything falls on it I'm safe.

This is a great unit, it is lightweight, making it possible to carry up flights of stairs, etc. I'd recommend this for that DJ either starting up or making it easier on your DJ's in your company from the ease of set up to the ease of lifting.

i, too, was surprized to see no hard lids, but - to get something this shock proof, this sturdy, this big (10x6) and this light - wow! a great deal for the price. a little care with getting it in and out of vehicles or an extra cover for moist nights and you'll be very pleased.

I am a drummer that sub-mixes my kit from stage so I bought this to hold my mixer, quad-gate and other things. Overall, I like it but I was a little suprised to find the "lid" is not a hard lid but a nylon cover. This will do fine if you don't have to put this in and out of a touring truck, or you have "very careful" roadies (yeah right, is there such a thing?) I like the size for what it holds and it's light-weight.
