It's a very well constructed case. I really like the plush green padded lining. I'm pretty sure that it will do a great job. Just one thing...

I'm using it with a Westerly-era Guild JF-30 and the fit is pretty tight. The length and width aren't a problem, but the height concerns me. When placed inside, the top of the guitar sticks out about an inch. The cover is deeper than most and it does manage to close once you get it past the near edge of the guitar. I'm hoping that the case will "break-in" and I don't have to use as much effort to get it closed up.

I think it will be ok, and the guitar is on the SKB approved list for this case, but I hope it doesn't end up on the bottom of any luggage piles

I just got this case a couple of months ago. I went to a gig and left it on the edge of a 4ft. stage...one way or another, it fell off the stage and cracked it wide open, thus damaging my guitar. Not only did the case get damaged way beyond repair, but my guitar also. I won't make any claims because i should've known better to not leave it near the edge of a 4ft. stage, BUT, for the case to easily be damaged like this, was not worth the price...not even close!WORST purchase I ever made.

Carries Great

Comments about SKB-20 Deluxe Jumbo Acoustic/Archtop Electric Guitar Case:

This case was by no means a perfect fit for my guitar (Martin jumbo cutaways are deeper and narrower than the average jumbo) but still works. It has a snug fit and doesn't bounce around inside. The latches are great- far and away better than the brassy, tacked-on, tin foilish junk you get on most cases. You do really have to line up the seal to get a proper closure but that provides a far superior closure than you would usually get. The extra two seconds each time is way worth it. The best part of the case is the way it carries. It is very lightweight, I didn't even realize how much case I was carrying before! The handle is really comfortable too and placed for optimal balance. You could walk a mile with it and not be bothered.

Comments about SKB-20 Deluxe Jumbo Acoustic/Archtop Electric Guitar Case:

This case looks very nice and fits my Takamine EG523SC Jumbo like a glove. The guitar looks beautiful in its case :). id like a heavier hinge. thats my only complaint.. but it has latches on both sides so the hinge will likely never be an issue. This case has a quality look and feel to it... its likely the best case in this price range.

One tough case

By Guitarmanmarty

Comments about SKB-20 Deluxe Jumbo Acoustic/Archtop Electric Guitar Case:

This case is the bomb! The latches are second to none and the case is as close to indestructable as I have ever seen, and it's unconditionally guaranteed for life! I bought my first one when the latches and hinges on my Ler Paul Classic case failed and dumped my Les Paul on the floor chipping the paint and breaking a tuner peg. After using it for a while I just bought a PRS and had to have another one of these cases to keep it safe too.Mine have both taken a lot of road abuse and except for a couple of scratches they are still strong. I don't think they will ever fail unless someone drives a semi over them, Get one, you'll be glad you did!

Comments about SKB-20 Deluxe Jumbo Acoustic/Archtop Electric Guitar Case:

This may be the only non guitar brand case they have that fits a 17" archtop. It would not fit an 18", but I think it would fit a Gibson L5, which is just a tad over 17". The quality is generally good, but it's not as rigid as a plywood case. It does weigh a lot less than a plywood one. It has plastic latches instead of the usual metal ones. They seem to be OK strength-wise, but they do protrude much further out so they might more easily get caught on things during transit, loading or unloading.

Great Case, But Won't Fit Vintage Epiphone Triumph Archtop

Comments about SKB-20 Deluxe Jumbo Acoustic/Archtop Electric Guitar Case:

I bought this case because it's hard to find a really well made guitar case that will accommodate my 1948 vintage Epiphone Triumph, which is 17 3/8 inches wide at the lower bout. Someone who wrote a dandy review of this case here on Musician's Friend wrote this: "This may be the only non guitar brand case they have that fits a 17" archtop. It would not fit an 18", but I think it would fit a Gibson L5, which is just a tad over 17"." and Musician's Friend states that it'll accommodate: "Electric Archtop guitars such as: Epiphone Emperor Regent and Epiphone Broadway guitars." The Inner dimensions seem about right at Length: 44" & Body Length: 23" & Body Depth: 5.75" & Lower Bout: 17.25" &Upper Bout: 12.5", but my 1948 is obviously a tad more than a tad too wide at both the lower and upper bouts to fit into this case. I'm sure most regular 17" wide archtops will fit in this case (My Eastman 2011 AR610-CS fits in easily), but if you have a vintage Epiphone Archtop, measure the size carefully, you might need to look elsewhere. I'll keep this for my Eastman archtop because it's really sturdy and much lighter than the original hardshell case.

Originally purchased this for a New Takamine 12 String. A little to tight for my 12 string but fit my 6 string Takamine perfectly. Just switched cases and this works fine. Gives my $4000.00 Takamine GREAT protection. Could throw it off a Semi and survive. Also, watertight. Love the big heavy duty latches.

This case is lighter than a hard shell case that is made of wood. It's a bit hard to close and lock, but other than that it's a well made case. It protects the guitar well. For the money it's well worth it.

Lightweight hardshell fits difficult to match guitars like the Gretsch G400 Synchromatic and the Jumbo style Takamine 12-string (yes, even the 12-string headstock). Much lighter than the original tolex-over-wood case but latches and especially the hinges aren't great. Doesn't line up easily when closing. I am satisfied as the lighter weight and more water-repellant body are just why I always go for the SKB type case.

The first case I had lost two feet, back lock broke, and the top sprung. The second one, in the first four years, the top sprung and the handle broke off. Be careful.
