Comments about SKB-KB88 88-Note Padded Keyboard Luggage:

I unfortunately am not going to give these cases a good review either. These need to be priced a LOT lower. I want Musicians Friend to understand, that I am not blaming them for any reason for the extreme poor quality of these bags/cases. Let me just say, I own both the 61 key and the 88 key bags and as the other reviewers have said, the cheap zippers broke. I solved that problem by taking some metal zippers off some old luggage that I wasn't using. Here's the thing I found with these cases. You CAN'T put anything into the side pockets, because that will rip the stitching from the inside of the pocket, apart from the nylon, exposing the foam on the inside and eventually separating the whole pocket on the top. I put my sustain pedal, power supply, a thin music binder (1") and my instrument cable to plug into my amp, spread out over the three pockets. The other case had the same things in it, except for the binder and add a drink tray, which is small, very light and about 2 inches tall at its highest point. Both cases have rips in them now. So after all that, I have to carry another separate gig bag for this stuff. (takes up more room in the car.) Meanwhile, the other day I was using the 61 Key case to take to an open mic and for some reason, the outer shell ripped a little bit, while I was zipping up the bag. THAT WAS THE LAST STRAW!! Okay, when u pay this much money for a softcase/bag, this shouldn't happen! These things aren't cheap! I only gig out a few times per YEAR! I've asked what I should do. Should I contact SKB to see what they can do for me? Answer from SKB: Since they are out of warranty, you might want to contact a local seamstress or a furniture repair shop and see if they can sew them back for you. You could also ship them back to us and we can repair them for you for $$$ WHAT??!!! Last I checked, neither one of these ideas is inexpensive to do! Furniture repair?? As for the other answer - SHIPPING??, especially for 2 cases, PLUS the cost of repair!! You would have to take them both of them apart to ship them. I could easily buy a new case for that!! Thanks a lot SKB.. Anyway I digress. You get the point. Do not buy these cases, unless you are really careful, (which I am,) with your equipment. Even then, (although they give adequate protection to your board, with thick padding on the top and sides,) they will disappoint. These bags are just over a year old. I have used the 88 key bag literally about 30 times, while the 61 Key has been used a little more, about 45 times. Like I said, I play out just a few times per year. I am extremely disappointed with SKB and after seeing reviews on their other keyboard cases, will never buy another case from them again. Musicians Friend. You guys might wan't to think twice about carrying some of SKB's stuff. Thank you though for your excellent service and being such a great company to work with. I WILL continue to do business with you. Thanks for letting me Vent!! Looks like I'll end up selling these cases very cheap..

An Exercise in Frustration

By Jim-hTzM.

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about SKB-KB88 88-Note Padded Keyboard Luggage:

As one of the earlier reviewers wrote, this SKB keyboard case just doesn't hold up. One of the wheels broke within a few weeks of using it, the seams and other material on the outside have torn easily, and the cheap zippers have broken. I was surprised at the poor quality of this case, because my SKB rack box has been quite durable. If you enjoy frustration and disappointment, this is the case for you. Otherwise, stay away from it.

Poor Choice

By Mike-l2659

Comments about SKB-KB88 88-Note Padded Keyboard Luggage:

I'm disappointed in the quality. I play on a part-time basis, but the bag hasn't held up. One of the wheels broke within the first couple of weeks and a zipper broke shortly thereafter. Also, it is somewhat bulky and cumbersome to move around.

Not at all durable

By Bluesman88

from Halifax, Nova Scotia

Comments about SKB-KB88 88-Note Padded Keyboard Luggage:

Fine if you're just using it occasionally, but if you gig a lot, this case does not hold up very well. It tears easily and the foam core loses its shape which makes it hard to get you keyboard back inside it. Very disappointed in mine.
