I got this because I bought a new Furman and needed a larger rack than the one I had. I bought the four space and it seems to be well made for what I need. The latches on the front panel seem indestructible. Very light weight and I love the handle and wheels...makes things a lot easier. I do agree with some of the other reviewers about the back door. It really doesn't make sense for it to be made that way. Seems like they should have just made it the same way as the front. But it doesn't pose too much of a problem for me. I don't really have any trouble getting at anything. I'm actually more concerned about the walls being so thin. You definitely don't want to stack anything heavy on this thing unless the corners line up on top. My old unit was a genuine ATA case and I could stand on the thing with no worries. Wouldn't try that with this. But it's not like I plan on chucking my gear around the room anyway. Good deal for the price.

although this case is a good idea, it needs more thought. The back end of the case is the problem, as the door to access the back of your rack mounted equipment is very, very small. The depth of the rack case makes the back end of the equipment a l-o-n-g way in there, and hard to get at. The good things are: the lid mounts well, lid locks are OK, but not great. The disappearing handle is a great idea, although the pocket it slides into, makes the interior of the case have an interference problem with the bottoms of your lowest-most rack position unit. If I had been able to see the back of the case clearly in the pictures, I would not have bought it. Botom line: Good idea, more thought required.

I play in an acoustic folk/rock duo so it's usually two or maybe three of us setting and striking. Having the wheels is nice for transport. Easy access makes setup easier also. The quality appears to be good.

I like having a handle and wheels. However I've owned this for a few years and only use it maybe 6 times a year and one of the wheels is broken.I have a 6U that I use for a PA amplifier, compressor and signal processor.I also have a guitar effects rack that is a Road Runner, with no wheels, so it is harder to move around, however when wheels break what good are they.I probably would not purchase again, It doees a great job of protecting my equipment but I definately would like better quality wheels

Don't know what the reviewer means when he says he has trouble with the "install." the nuts are all provided and they clip to the rack itself. "I'm not the world's most physical guy" but you'd have to be really pathetic to not be able to install this. Very easy, the case is well constructed, and I'm using the RLX-4 to house both of our monitor amps and it handles them with ease.

This is my first SKB product and it won't be my last. I help setup equipment for my son's band and they have been picking up a lot of gigs lately. So I wanted to get a rack case with wheels to make moving equipment easier. I purchased the SKB RLX 4 space case, put two amps in it without any problems, and now roll this equipment around with ease. My rating would have been all five's except for the rear cover, a little flimsy, but it hasn't failed yet. In summary, no problems installing equipment, sturdy and practical case. I will be buying more of these.

I recently bought two of these units. The design for the front where the screws go in is terrible. They are not set up to take regular rack screw, they are a larger hole. Because the back door is soo small and you have to hold up a nut to the back of it, it is a huge huge huge pain. (I cannot stress this enough) Unless you have baby hands, it is almost impossible to install. They should have put the regular rack rails in to make it screw in, dont mess with a nut in the back and be done. Terrible install design.On a positive note, it is very light, wheels come in handy on the one case I was able to get put together.. Still working on the 2nd.

Bought a 5 space unit about a year and a half ago. Mounted a Furman and my SWR 750X in it. The relatively small door is a little bit of an issue with getting to my furman, I solved it by putting a power strip in it. This case has taken some punisment riding in the bottom of a bus, playing clubs, getting thrown around in my car and shows some battle scars but still functions as it did when I bought it. My pull handle sticks some, but has since day 1. A good yank usually is all it needs. My 1 piddly gripe is that the wheels in the bottom stick out where it doesn't sit square on my 4x10 bass bins, the wheels usually have to hang off the side, yeah I know its cosmetic but would be nice to have it sit centered on the cabinet. That said, looking to get another one to expand the rig and it will be my first choice.

I have had two of these over the last 3 years and just bought my third as my gear keeps expanding.The wheels and handle are great for moving the case w/o a dolly. Stacks great with same type cases, docking into place fairly well.I have power conditioners in each one and then load my compressor, dual EQ, amps, & crossover.All fit well with no interference.My only wish for improvement would be that it should have the same weatherproof, sealed front and back of SKB's other units. A larger rear opening would be nice as well but not a deal-breaker.I also wish it came in an 8U model. I would have bought two of those instead.Overall an excellent buy and a must-have!

If your looking for a rackcase BUY THIS ONE. It's light (12lbs for 6 space), the pull out handle and wheels work perfect, very sturdy, and just the right size at 17inch depth. Your back and shoulders will love it too.I have a small complaint about the little back door, but it's still the best portable rack out there.My entire guitar setup is in this thing, both for gigging and in the studio. Power conditioner, V-amp Pro, EQ, and poweramp. It's all I need and this box protects them well.STOP LOOKING AND JUST BUY IT ALREADY.
