Comments about SKB Soft Case for 88-Note Keyboard:
This is a completely new, redesigned case, and the improvements are noteworthy. I don't use keyboard case pockets, (board and case are heavy enough for me) but if you do, there are plenty. Even though not mentioned in the specs there are "pockets inside the pockets", good for packing other smaller or light weight items. One of my complaints with other soft cases is that because of the wheels, they won't stand on end. This one will, an ingenious little adjustable bar down at the wheel end solves that problem. The best improvement is the wood frame all around the sides, it is without question the sturdiest and most protective case (for a soft case) that you will ever find. Another nice touch is the extra straps for easy carrying with the wheels. Also, all the other soft cases I've seen only have the plastic stair rails on the bottom, and they only go to the lower half of the case. This case not only has rails that run the entire length, it also has rails on one of the sides, really nice. The wheels do their job just fine in aiding the transport of around 100 pounds of keyboard and case. The interior straps won't let the board move around once it's inside, and it fits my Yamaha XS8 (or FX8 as in the photo) like a glove. They really went all out on this case, even a little identification card and viewing window. SKB has nailed it with this one, I couldn't find a single thing I didn't like, or anything I'd change. I guess if I had to be super critical, I'd say leave off the pockets since I don't use them, I wonder how many people actually add gear to a keyboard/case package that already weighs about one hundred pounds. Other than that small point, this case is a winner in every sense of the word. I feel sorry for the competition...
