Features:

It's easy to use. It works great to tune my violin and my son's guitar. It's compact encough to fit in my violin case. I used it so much I had to purchase my son a separate one for his personal use.

Quality:

Well made. Love the swival head.

Value:

Note sure why such a big price increase from the black one to the blue one to the red one. they all do the same thing and the price difference is huge. I did find that for the money the blue one is more sensitive to sound. The black one and the red one seem to have a hard time picking up the sound. I could not get them to pick up on my music stand. they had to be directly attached to my instrument.musicians friends price was a far better value than my local music store i must add.

Overall:

i would recommend reading the instructions.lol. the first one i purchased the lady at the local music store "showed" me and my son how to use it. all wrong i might add. it's very easy. you know if you are flat or sharp or right in tune. love the swival head. so i can hold my violin and quickly tune it before each practice. did not like the big price jump from color to color when they all do the same thing. i've used three of them ranging in price.black, red and blue and i must say my favorite was the mid range price point one, the blue one. it's more sensitive than this one but the lady at my local music store told me it was not for a violin after i had been using it for two weeks to tune my violin, lol.so i ordered this one.we shall see.snark, cute name.

Snark Chromatic Tuner

Overall:

I've been using the Snark for about two weeks. I have had several clip-on tuners and most of them flop around and are hard to position for clear viewing, but the Snark has multiple adjustment points for easy alignment. It has an easy to read graphic screen that is very precise, and it seems to sense vibrations well through the material of the instrument. I have had other tuners fail to pick up certain low volume notes. It works equally well for my mandolin, banjo, and twelve string guitar. I have not really tried its mic setting. It has a built in metranome, adjustable reference, and key change (capo) feature.  My only complaint would be that the key change feature is too limited, but if you are only capoing up two or three frets, it allows you to check tuning in the current key without undoing the capo and going back to open strings for tweaking up. A great buy for the money.

good tuner, poor design

Features:

provides basic features found in most tuners

Quality:

poorly constructed swivel and clip made entirely of plastic that breaks very easily

Value:

not overly expensive, but you get what you pay for

Overall:

while the tuner functions well, the poor and cheaply designed plastic that it is constructed out of

breaks quite easily.

Snark not snarky

Features:

This great little tool has all the features one could want: alarge, clearly understood lighted dial, intuitive set-up and use, its own little travel bag to protect it, and an aesthetically pleasing look.  It works well both in the contact and nearby/mike modes.

Quality:

THe clamp seems strong, but since it's new I am not sure how long it will remain springy.

Value:

got it for a good price.

Overall:

Very happy so far with this item,
