added 4 new packs of picks to my last order, but these are probably the least-awesome. the grip is nice, better than a plain pick. However, i should've read further to discover that these are nylon - cool if you like that sort of thing, but I find them way too soft for my picking styles. probably good for folk, country, or other styles where softening/deadening the string response is a good thing, just not right for me. On the plus side, they come in a cool pocket-sized box which you can put other things in once you've emptied it, and now I have a dozen grippy folk-picks that I can offer to passing hippies (who seem to love them). I?'ll pass on these in the future.
grip is better than plain nylon picks
I don't play enough nylon picks to judge this fairly
they include a box that you can put other picks in

The .53m suits me but there are many sizes to choose from. I mainly finger pick so when I do use a pick I need one I can feel. The little grips on these do just that.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:

Fantastic grip, thin and light feeling, especially nice for those used to thin or more flexible picks. One "con" would be that the edges of the "point" area on some of the picks is a bit "rough", like a rough seam, but that smooths out with use, or can be smoothed with sharp knife or emery board etc.

These picks seem more flexible for a given thickness (0.88 mm, 1.00 mm etc)than similar-thickness standard picks, so if you like a stiffer pick, go up one size from what you're used to with other picks. Perfect if you like an "in-between" stiffness, or you can go up a size thicker than usual and still not feel too cumbersome. EXCELLENT grip surface that doesn't wear off or decrease effectiveness during use like some specialty picks.

Ordered these to help with slipping. Texture felt nice but picks still slip out of position. I started with Fender mediums and these were supposed to be of similar thickness, but theses are much flimsier and there is a thin border of plastic all the way around the pick edge that needs sanded off. Will be ordering something else.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:

I had always been a huge fan of Dunlop Delrin and Tortex picks, which are great picks but spin around while in your grip, not always leaving your pick in an optimum playing position. I had always liked thin gauge picks. A few years back, I came across these at Musician's Friendand bought some to try. I neverlooked back. I started off with the lightest gauge "green" ones (.053). I worked up to the purples, then reds and now the blacks (.088). I love them. They have a great 'positive' grip, stay well in place in your grip-no matter how light your grip may be. I love the black .088 and think that I finally found "THE" pick for me. You may not think that a pick could have such impact, but I have found that the right pick improves your playing and certainly can have a positive effect on your "sound" or tone. If you look, there's a pick out there for everyone....I found the pick that's best for me. Try these, I think you'll like them.

IF you give them a chance, you will find that you will develop calluses on your thumb. I move a pick around constantly for different sounds, etc., so I wasn't too crazy about them at first - just due to the fact that these things will NOT slide around very easily. However - I got used to that, and it's the only pick I use now. Again - they won't slide around, and the best part - these things last a LONG time - far longer than any other pick I've ever used...

If you're like every guitar player, ever, you have bought and lost more picks than you care to share. Now I can't tell you that you won't lose these, but I can tell you that you will never buy another brand of picks again. These are by far my favorite, most useful, durable, stylishable and awesomable picks on the market.
Brain Picks from Snarling Dog are a must try and will be a repeat buy (you know you'll lose them...don't lie).

I used to use Tortex exclusively for many years. Great picks except the grip wore off rather quickly. The Snarling Dogs picks have yet to lose their grip. Even under the lights and sweat, no slippage at all.

Have been looking for picks to replace my dwindling stock of Bakersfields. The purple 60's are as close as I have found to the black Bakersfields. The Dog's seem just a bit more flexible. The grip on the Dog's picks is excellent, the best I have found.
