I use the Purple (.60) for clear crisp acoustic strumming and the cat tongue grip is unbelievably great! I will not use any other pick, period!

added 4 new packs of picks to my last order, but these are probably the least-awesome. the grip is nice, better than a plain pick. However, i should've read further to discover that these are nylon - cool if you like that sort of thing, but I find them way too soft for my picking styles. probably good for folk, country, or other styles where softening/deadening the string response is a good thing, just not right for me. On the plus side, they come in a cool pocket-sized box which you can put other things in once you've emptied it, and now I have a dozen grippy folk-picks that I can offer to passing hippies (who seem to love them). I?'ll pass on these in the future.
grip is better than plain nylon picks
I don't play enough nylon picks to judge this fairly
they include a box that you can put other picks in

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
I don't know. You would think that after 50 years of playing, I would be able to hold a pick ! But I have tried several newer picks, as I was always a Fender pick guy. These picks have a "cats tongue" type of pattern on them and so far, for me, I really like them. The grippy surface allows me to hold the pick a little looser, and frees up my playing. I'd recommend if you have trouble with your pick rotating, or you keep dropping it, give these a try. Sound is very close to the Dunlop nylon picks. I also like as a distant second the various picks with the star cut out.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
These things are like Velcro for your fingers! I found one of these next to my amp at a show I played, so I stuck it in my pocket and tried it out later. I couldn't believe how grippy it was. I played with that pick exclusively for the next six months with hardly a sign of wear. I will never use another brand of pick as long as I can buy these.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
I tried many picks, looking for ones that wouldn't easily be dropped, or slip in my fingers, and nothing does the job like Snarling Dog Brain Picks. The non-slip textured surface is the best of it's kind I've found.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
I find these picks to be an invaluable aspect of my gear. They're textured just right to prevent slippage, especially while playing sixteenth notes. They're built to last and come with a cool tin which when empty can serve many purposes. I use the .88 for guitar and the 1.0 for bass. Do yourself a favor and at least give them a try. You may be pleasantly surprised!

These picks have the best textured grip I have ever experienced. You'll have a hard time dropping one of these while playing. And nylon is the only way to go. I've yet to break a nylon pick.

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
Snarling Dogs are the best picks out there. I play non stop for 3 hours and usually in a humid environment and require a pick that won't slip out of sweaty hands and fingers. Snarling Dogs do the trick better than any other. I swear by them!

Comments about Snarling Dogs Brain Guitar Picks and Tin Box:
After playing my favorite Dunlop Tortex for over 10 years, I realized my grip is getting less secure and I kept dropping my picks. Since then, I've tried Star Picks, which are similar in feel to the Tortex but didn't really help, Herdin Blue, which gave me the great "Edge" chime, but were just ok on grip, and Dunlop Jazz Max Grip, which were great, but too small for my fingers. It might take a while to adjust to playing a nylon pick, but I have not dropped one of these things yet. They are very comfortable and the size is standard so I can move them around in my finger if I want. The grip is not just bumps. The markings are angled like barbs on fish hooks. One try and you'll get what I mean. And for those of you who keep a pick for a while, I haven't worn one down and it's been over a month. I got the organge 1.14mm and they're pretty heavy. My only suggestion to the manufacturer is to get the grip a little closer to the tip of the pick because if I'm really pinching it close to the string, I come off the texture, and smooth nylon does not help grip.

These are very comfortable, durable picks that are easier to hold. They also last a while. Personally, I use the Black 88's. Good price...
