reliable, inexpensive, simple pedal. much easier to figure out that some high end pedals ive messed with and you still get all the power and adjustability of expensive pedals.
It doesn't really have much more than any other pedal I've used but the thing I love about this one is, i don't use heel toe, slide, or swivel when im doing faster beats, i just use my ankle strength. the springs are pretty loose so even if you have a weak kick or use heel down (for some reason) you can get a loud hit without slamming the pedal. and its really easy to adjust the angle of the beater. on some of my friends more expensive pedals we couldnt even figure that out.
Ive had it for almost 2 years and its still holding up as good as when i got it, but some of the screws keep coming loose. you may have to tighten some stuff up regularly but other than that its sturdy.
Amazing pedal for the price. puts together quick, easy to figure out, and will last you a long time.

If you are just getting into double bass, you may find the price appealing. Here is my advice to you: This pedal will work fine for someone working on fundamental ideas of double bass drumming, but anything more intricate, and you will QUICKLY find that these pedals are sub par. At first, you will think its your fault, mess with the settings forever, and get nowhere. Then you will get frustrated. You will want to avoid that last step. Doing so is easy. For $70-100 more you can go get some Iron cobra jr's or gibraltars, that will feel great out of the box, and will be fun and easy to play. Those pedals are many, many levels above the Sound Percussion pedals.

You don't buy $15 shoes to see if you like running. Don't buy a cheap bass drum pedal to see if you will like it. As a musician, if your gear sucks you will get frustrated and quit. In music, you get what you pay for 10 times out of 10. There is a reason why DW kits cost $5K, just like there is a reason why these pedals are $75 cheaper than any name brand.

Besides, if you do decide you don't like double bass drumming (unlikely, i know), if you buy a name brand then your pedals will have resale value. These pedals will not. I got a great deal on these pedals, and I only use them on my practice kit. On the plus side, they make me really appreciate my high end pedals. I would buy these pedals again, but if these will be your primary pedals, look elsewhere!!
No frills on this thing. Just a plain-jane pedal with limited adjustability.
Solid footplate, beaters, springs and rod. You probably wont be able to break this thing, but it will never be quite what you want. I have messed with the settings endlessly, but the slave pedal still feels like a brick.
The one saving grace of this pedal, and the reason its quickly becoming one of the most popular pedals on the market (just look at the number of comments), is the price. There is simply no other double pedal on the market that you can get brand new for this price.

I bought this pedal two weeks ago. It lasted one hour! I sent it back and got another one thinking it was a fluke. Just broke the new one while putting it together! Very poor quality. The only good thing I can say is musicans friend is being great about it and I am now upgrading to a better pedal. Dont waste your money! Buy a better pedal

    Awesome Double Bass Pedal

Comments about Sound Percussion Double Bass Pedal:

These are great double bass pedals! I just started out with double bass with these pedals, and for how much you pay for them, they can't be beat! I use them to play along with Dream Theater songs and they hold up just fine!

One thing you'll want to do with these pedals though is really take a bit of time and adjust them to just how you want them. At first I didn't bother with adjustments but then I took a bit of time and adjusted them to how I liked them, and I am able to play fast double bass on these. I'm looking forward to using these in my band's songs.

I'd say if you are looking for a deal and not caught up on brand names, this is the way to go.
It's great! No excess frills but works amazingly. I had to break in the chains a little first but from that point on it has had no problems.
The quality exceeds the pricing, A great starter model that is sure to last.
One of the cheapest price wise. However, it is not a poor quality knock off. It's a great deal.

Comments about Sound Percussion Double Bass Pedal:

well, i get this one used and there was a minor problem with a part on this pedal, but its still amazing, even when it was broken. This pedal is really good in getting first time double bass drummers, like me, to learn basic foot movement and gaining the muscles. Definitely a good buy

Comments about Sound Percussion Double Bass Pedal:

I found the pedals fine for use in my studio had it arrived with both set screws to hold the chains to the pedals.I have to come up with a very thin screw to pass through the chain that is long enough and fine threaded before I can even test the pedals. Not the store's fault but what a hassle. The screw was not in the bag with the pedals nor in either of the boxes.

    • Good Quality

    Cons

    • Difficult For Some

    Best Uses

    • Beaters Can Be Adjusted

Comments about Sound Percussion Double Bass Pedal:

The best aspect of the pedals, besides the price of course. Is the fact that you can tweak the beaters, and how they hit unlike many designs. Some may see this as a flaw, but I see it as a plus. I have owned many pre positioned double kick pedals. You could only have the beaters set but one way. With these you can set them further back on the shaft, or forward. But you need to understand how to do it.

Comments about Sound Percussion Double Bass Pedal:

first I'd like to say that musician's friend is great every time i order from them i receive my product 2 days after it ships every time. This pedal was great for my budget of $0.00 it's really fast and setup took me less time than putting new heads on a 12 inch tom plus my old pedal was really bad so even if i only got one pedal it would've been worth it
