I should begin by stating I was spoiled.

I had purchased Sound Percussions' Heavy Duty hardware pack about 6 months ago and, after some sight modifications, thought it represented very good value.
I bought this pack from MF hoping it would be close to the heavy duty pack's quality but found this VERY light duty in comparison. Among my complaints are there is no hi-hat spring tension adjustment or lateral leg adjustment for use with double bass playing. The stands all have smaller diameter tubing. And the bass pedal is nothing like the quality of the heavy duty pedal. Both versions of bass pedals require a modification to allow shaft/spring arm to adjust at angle outside of keyed location. This requires completely removing bearings and shaft and rotating assembly almost 180 degrees. Now you can adjust beater angle! This gives much better speed and response. Hey SP, maybe you can change your keyed angle a little, or eliminate it, and save us the mod?

All in all very light duty in comparison - it should be re-branded "Light Duty".
I gave 4 stars for the good price/value I got after a price match. SP still offers good value on a tight budget.

Add'l note: Sound Percussind needs to offer their heavy duty pack again. I can't find it anywhere. What happened?
Also, I love Musicians Friend (MF), especially the price guaranty. Good site. But, it would be nice for them to speed up the page loads. Way too slow even with high speed IP and computer.

Mom used to say, "cheap buy, cheap get" and was she ever right. Really not very good at all. Hi-hat stiff and wobbly, pedal is not even good for a beginner. In fact, only a seasoned player would be able to get anything out of this pedal, a beginner would take up another instrument if faced with having to keep time with this. A great conversation-piece paperweight though.

In just 3 months of use, the snare stand broke. And I only use this kit the weekeends like 1 to 2 hours per day, so i will recommend to buy good stuff made with quality.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Drum Hardware Pack:

It's not a bad pack. I paid a lot more in the store so looking at this price it's a lot better of a deal. They all do their job and don't fall over. They aren't rock solid but I wouldn't worry about it collapsing. It's just metal supporting metal... plain and simple.

Comments about Sound Percussion Labs Drum Hardware Pack:

This hardware pack is absolutely terrible. Their very poorly made and cant hold cymbals to well without starting to tip. If anything the pedal is halfway decent but thats about it. Save yourself the money and buy a set thats a little more expensive itll be worth it trust me!

Hi-hat stand = broken second day..Cymbal stand = flimsy..Kick pedal = not too bad for the price..(save your money and buy a double kick)Snare stand = unbelieveably sturdy..Save your money and buy seperate items, from Tama, DW, or Pulse.
