Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

This stand stands up to heavy playing. This is a professional stand at a fraction of the price. Look, you don't have to spend a lot of money on a high end brand name stand. This stand is a great working hi-hat stand.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

I rated it a 7. Short legged drummers might rate it higher.
This hi hat stand is a solid, double braced hat stand. The expected adjustments are all there. The footboard feels solid, and its travel is adjustable. My only disappoinement is that I'm a tall guy, and I like the cymbals high. The stand is not the tallest on the market. It's not the shortest, but not the tallest. My two broken stands have upper tubes that are narrower than this one, so I couldn't trade 'em out. But it's a good stand.
Good Quality.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

This stand is solid and comfortable. This is my first high hat stand. I have had it for about a year now and it has been smooth, easy, and a real privilege to own. It boasts a really impressive amount of adjustments, too (tension, rotating legs, etc.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

I have used my fair share of hi hat stands from top of the line to emergency hopefully I will get through the night stands. This stand is built solid, very adjustable from tension to swiveling the legs to accommodate double bass pedals.Only drawback is if you play a tall high hat you won't have a lot of room left over for anything else. Being 6' 6" tall I am coming pretty close to the height limit. For most people it would probably be fine. Built very rugged, much better than I was expecting!

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

This was my first, and so far only, hi-hat stand. I've had it for over 3 years now and it is still in virtually perfect condition. For the price it's a steal; whether you're just starting out or if you're a pro. Plus, one benefit that helped me a lot, is that you can rotate the pedal. This allows you to use double-bass pedals without the hassle of a hi-hat leg in the way. I totally recommend this stand.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

I just purchased one of these. I am impressed by it. It has a rotating leg assembly and a tension adjustment, similar to Gibraltar or DW. It is solidly built, without being overly beefy or overly heavy. The feel is smooth, and even when stomping hard, the footboard feels solid (not flimsy like some other stands in this price range). The only complaint I have is that the footboard is a little too narrow for my taste. I can still play it fine, but I have a fairly large foot, and this footboard, although solid, seems narrower than most. Just something to think about.Overall, this hat stand feels very good, and with tension adjustment and rotatable legs, it adds up to a winner!

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

This definitely isn't the best HH stand on the market, actually it's pretty far from it. It IS; however, pretty friggin' cool. Pros: It's not expensive. It gets the job done by holding the High Hats pretty sturdily. It looks better than any other HH stand I've ever seen with the awesome design on the pedal. It WORKS without killing your bank account or your HH cymbals.Cons: Well the only bad thing about it is that it's lighter than most HH stands so it wiggles around loads while I'm playing open hats (but I'm also quite a heavy hitter). I've tested it by pushing it over, and the likeliness that it will fall over while your playing are probably about the same as your snare falling over while you're playing.Bottom line is that you Don't need to spend a fortune on a fancy-shmancy High Hat stand when something this cheap gets the same job done without having to spend a tragillion bucks.

Unles you just want gold plating or something, no reason to spend more on a stand. This one is plenty stout, stable and does the job well at a fraction of the brand namers. I would buy another just like it.

Seems like a nice solid stand. I'm new to drumming. There is a adjustment (using a drum key and phillips head screw) on the post above the pedal - any help on how this adjustment works? Thanks

rotating legs great for double pedal

          By Paul Humphryes

          from Glendale Arizona

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

I recently switched to a double base pedal and found the third leg of my old stand interfered with this. The SP880HS double braced hi-hat stand swivel legs freed up space for left foot movement it also allows for closer set up of the hi-hat stand. This is a sturdy stand with no wabble and a great value. High quality product with excellant durability. Get this stand if you are on a budget.

I got this in last Thursday and could not believe how amazingly responsive it was for the price. I wasn't expecting a whole lot for 50 dollars but I would definately recommend this for anyone looking for a great stand without spending an arm and a leg.

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

I bought one of these a while back to use with a pad rig I made for silent practice. I liked it so much that I swapped it with the Yamaha Hi Hat stand that came with my custom maples. It is smoother and more responsive than the Yamaha. The thing I like most about it though, is that the pedal sits lower to the ground than the Yamaha and it makes for a more comfortable feel to me. It also makes foot barks much easier to do. Very good deal IMO.
