The "canvas" material is strong, and is water-resistant,not water-proof,but if i had to choose,i'd go with durability any day of the week,so i don't mind that it's not water-proof,it's durable. With dual-support shoulder straps, handles to hold it anyway you want to,strong zip & zippers, dual pockets, and rubber plates at the bottom for protection,as well as a generous helping of padding, this makes for a great product, thanks Spector.
This is the best gig bag i have owned so far,and even though i didn't buy it from this site,(i bought it in Trinidad from Live N Loud Music Store for $400.00TT Dollars),i still feel i got value for money.First of all, this item is well padded, back to front, the material is a strong "canvas" type material, which has so far, stood up to the rigors of my gigs, and travel. There's a handle on the right side of the gig bag to accomadate conventional horizontal "carry",a handle in the front for vertical "carry",(i found this to be a novel idea),as well as not one,but two shoulder straps for "back-pack" type of carrying(this is the feature i use the most,it frees my hands so that i can carry other things,),a sturdy zip which extends all the way to the bottom of the gig bag, with not one but two zippers, two rubber "plates" at the bottom of the gig bag,to protect it from hard surfaces, and the metal "arms" of guitar stands, and rounding off this list of features are not one,but two pockets mounted on top of each other, the bottom pocket being the larger of the two,is large enough to suit most needs, but Spector put another just in case, the second being just 3-4inches shorter than the first, but just as wide,an excellent idea.
I've had my Spector gig bag now for a little over three years, and it looks the same as i had bought it,not a blemish, not a tear anywhere, the zips still work fine(i'm happy to say),all straps are holding firmly(believe me,that's a plus in the tropics where i live)the heat and dust doesn't seem to have any effect on it,i wouldn't trust my Fender Jazz Bass to any other case since i bought this one,i recently bought an ESP B-206SM,with hard-shell case, but i'm going to buy another Spector gig bag,for this bass too!
Again i bought this in my country,Trinidad & Tobago,so i'm not in a position to compare prices with other countries, but i can say that it's worth every penny of the $400.00TT Dollars i paid for it,and would strongly recommend this product to all bass and guitar players, you won't regret it,i've owned a number of gig bags over my 30+ yrs as a professional, and none has stood up the way this one does,it's a great buy,and considering what it has to protect,$49US,is a steal of a deal, for this product.

This bag is made very well, but I am dissapointed that it is actually too wide for the body of my Spector bass. I thought that they would make them to have a snug fit the 12" wide body. I have an older Spector bag that was falling apart after many years of use. That one fit perfectly

Comments about Spector Bass Gig Bag:

It came down to a Gator bass gig bag or this Spector bass gig bag. I chose this Spector bass gig bag simply because of the sale price. I bought a Gator bass gig bag for my jazz precision bass guitar and you can not go wrong with a Gator gig bag. My Spector Legend 5 standard 5 string electric bass guitar fits snugly in this case with no problems. Lots of pockets for accessories. Well made and looks great. Could not find a thing wrong with it. Very pleased with this bag. I value my Spector bass guitar and I feel it is well protected now.

Comments about Spector Bass Gig Bag:

Needed something affordable for the time being and it seems as tho it will last for a while. I'm happy with the protection. I go out and play about 3-5 times a week so we'll see how the back pack straps hold up.

Comments about Spector Bass Gig Bag:

Very well constructed. The stitching and overall quality is really good and the embroided logos add a nice touch. It is well padded with an inch thickness of cushion all around. The bag provides a lot of storage compartments for your accessories and cables. Zippers are easy to open and close and are well made too. I like the rubber foot at the bottom as it adds stability when resting on the ground. I have an ESP b-style bass and it fits quite nicely and does not wobble around during transport. The back pack style straps are a good addition too but, could offer more padding. The other grab handles are also very well made. Overall I find this an excellent choice for a gig bag if you are going from gig to gig or lite travel. Awesome job spector!

Comments about Spector Bass Gig Bag:

Just arrived on time from Musicians Friend. Used it immediately for local gigs where I know there are no other instruments/objects that will lay on top of the bass in transit. Have a Warwick 5 string and the new bag fits great. Good storage for cables and tuners, can carry over the both shoulders or with one hand. No room for much music though.

Comments about Spector Bass Gig Bag:

This is my fifth soft shell case/gig bag purchased and it is, by far, better than most I've seen in the local stores and it cost less than two of the other bags I've purchased. It has two outside cargo pockets--one with two inner zippered compartments and pockets for pens/pencils. The larger cargo pocket will hold sheet music and a couple cables. The main compartment has additional padding and rubber feet at the bottom where there is the most stress when the bag is upright. It also has additional cordura fabric on the inside at the headstock and pickup area. I must clarify that I have been in possession of the bag for only a few weeks, but it appears to be made well and I plan to buy another for an electric guitar.
