Ultimately, my favorite pair of sticks that I've used cost about 4x more a pair than these cost per pair, which is the max amount I've spent on sticks. These sticks, while not inherently bad, are not my ideal pair. As a rock drummer who most often plays songs by Helmet, Foo Fighters and the like, they are slightly lighter than I'd like (which is better than being too heavy) and the shape of the tip is not fully to my liking; excuse my ignorance concerning tip shape descriptions and names but they are more rounded than I prefer. Sort-of like a ball with a point at the end. I prefer a longer oval-shaped tip, but that's personal choice.

Still, I am a hobbyist and only play in garage band settings, so this economical brick of sticks do the trick. There obviously will be better sticks, but I've found that each drumstick is straight and consistent with the others.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference in terms of weight and shape. Therefore, the differences between these sticks and the sticks that I have used before are too minimal for a hobbyist like myself to stress about. For me, the price makes up for what I consider flaws.

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

Listen, I'm all about saving money. That's why I bought these! But, after one church service, I had broken two sticks, and I really don't play unreasonably loud. Seriously, save your money and buy something else.
    It's a drumstick.
If you play with any volume at all, these will break FAST. If you play cool jazz with 5A's for some reason, you will be ok!
Cheap price for an incredibly cheap product.

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

The price is hard to beat and the lightweight of the sticks makes it easy to get around any kit. The only problem I have is that they break pretty easily, if it wasn't for the price I wouldn't be using these. Overal they're a pretty good stick...wish they came with Nylon tips, though.

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

The sticks are decent for rehearsals but I wouldn't want to use them for a live performance application. I think the NOVA sticks are a little better for the money.
Birch is not a heavy wood and these feel very light in your hands. Good rehearsal sticks but probably not going to be a staple for performance.
Cheap! Great price for a lot of sticks.

    Bunch of Birch

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

Good buy for person who plays to play not plays to pay bills. They do break, but so do the expensive one pair at a time sticks. Perfect stocking stuffer.
If you have a drummer in your life, you can not have enough drumsticks. Great price for a bunch of practice sticks. Good buy.

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

Sticks were super inexpensive and I thought they would be good for a beginning drum class. The sticks were of such low quality I didn't even want to give them away. Light porous wood with no "heft" at all. They had a poor sound quality and precluded students from developing a feel for a real drum stick. Avoid these for anything but as a toy for a 5 year old.

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

As a guitarist for 40 years I thought I might try drums and bought a couple pair of these on a Stupid deal sale. Each pair of sticks were different size, like one 5a and one 7a so I put the two big ones together and the two small ones together. They are also crooked so when you roll them on a table the tips go up and down 1/4".

Comments about Stagg 12-Pair Birch Drum Sticks:

I got these sticks expecting to get some okay use out of them, the first day I get them I break two pair.. They are cheap, yes but they will not last you a month. Which leads to you buying more sticks, it adds up after a while.
