I broke my A backup string and had to use a spare D tuned to an A. So I bought 2 new backup sets. These are the official Steinberger strings, so now I have no excuses. If I break one of these, then I'll have to say it wasn't just the other brand that breaks, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying my Spirit 5-string.

I was pleased to get these strings for such a reasonable price -- unheard of for a 5-string Steinberger.
Double ball end strings are the easiest string changes ever!
Wore out the factory strings on my Hohner B2A V bass, so I don't much to compare to, but these strings give me a good solid bottom end and no warble on the high strings. I immediately recorded a new bass track with these strings on and it sounded great!
Great price for a set of strings for a 5-string headless bass!

I have always used Ken Smith strings on my Steinberger Spirit 5-string bass and usually pay near twice this a set. I seen the Steinberger brand strings for this price and thought I'd give them a try. I was very disappointed with the sound quality and feel. They sounded really quiet, dull, and lifeless. They had a very stiff feel to them. I kept them on my bass for about 15 minutes before I took them off and put my three month old, worn out set of Ken Smith's back on. Maybe it was just a bad set I got but I won't be purchasing another set to find out.
