I screw all my guitar hangers (including this one) to a wall stud. The type of drywall anchor provided was used on a towel rack in my bathroom and failed. If you have a guitar, chances are you like it. Don't risk it hitting the floor! This is a strong well made hanger, don't make you mounting job the weak link.

The design of this product allows you to display your instrument at virtually any angle. The prong that supports the neck, as well as the two prongs that cradle the body are all covered in neoprene rubber, and will not marr the finish.I'd like to emphasize for those of you who are wondering... yes, this hanger works well for pointy guitars as well as round-bodies. I'm using mine to display my Dean FBD ML, and I just ordered a second one to display my Dean silverburst '79 ML. I know my biggest concern when I ordered it was "What if it won't fit the body style?" So, you folks can rest assured that it'll work just fine for your ML's, V's, Explorers, etc. The major down-side of this product is how it mounts to the wall. There are only 2 screw holes. One on top of the mounting bracket, and one on bottom... not very stable, even when attached to a wall stud! I went ahead and drilled two extra holes on top of the bracket, and two more on the bottom, which gave me a total of 6 mounting points. It's not difficult to modify the bracket at all. It's simply powder-coated aluminum. All you need is a 1/4" drill bit and a few extra screw anchors. That's just my recommendation... but it's definitely worth the extra effort, especially if you don't want your guitar to wind up on the floor.

Love it

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

this thing is great! I seen it on my friends wall he has two of them, and I was amazed at how good it looks when your guitars are cocked sideways up on the wall like a work of art. Not only does my guitar look stunning when it is stationed on this stand, it is really easy to access. The problem with all the other stands is the possibility of things bumping into the guitar when it is dangling from the neck mounted chest high on the wall or on a floor based stand. this is definately a win win. Looks like a work of art, does its purpose as a easily accessible guitar stand AND in my opinion provides the best chance for minimizing the risk of things bumping into it by placing it higher up on the wall. 5 stars.

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

I Use this to display my Fender Tele. All my other guitars are hanging vertically on String Swing hangers. This solves the problem of the Fender head stock shape. My home studio looks awesome and I can effortlessly reach for any of my instruments always standing by while providing a pleasing decoration to my home, while freeing up floor space.

Requires 2 screws for mounting, not included, but then what size should they supply for all possible installations?

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

I bought this for a Peavey slide guitar. Thicker than most solid bodies and odd-shaped, it won't hang. Like me Steinberg bass, there's not much for hanging them. This worked (though not for the bass) The way it is built, you can rotate the body-catching part to get a slightly different angle. Mounts on one stud.

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

I only have floor space sufficient for four guitars on conventional stands in my music area. So, my fifth and beyond required that I start going up the wall. This device is firm and supports their weight evenly, even with heavier models like the Les Paul. It makes for an interesting display as well. The only improvement that I would suggest is to place a 3" padded toggle strut on the end of the neck support- just to add more confidence. I have stairs on the outside of that wall and I was concerned that the neck might get bounced up and out of the support. A short fabric strap from the upper strap button, around the neck support, and back solved the issue. I also recommend ditching the drywall anchors, find a wall stud, and drive the screws directly into that.

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

I bought this to help finish off my office in a home we moved to recently to hang a Mike Gee relic strat clone with a pinup which is one of my banger backup guitars. Looks great on the wall with my framed stage passes and some old Fender B&W magazine ads from the 50's that are in frames The instructions are clear, the installation is simple. They provide 2 screws used for direct mount into studs and some wall anchors if no studs available. I picked a spot, used a stud finder, drilled 2 pilot holes using the wall bracket as the template, changed the bit on the drill to the phillips head and in it went. You will need a plier or socket head to unlock and adjust the angular setpiece on the bracket. It is covered by a black plastic piece when done and concealed. Looks great on the wall and could not have been easier

Comments about String Swing Electric Guitar Wall Hanger:

I bought this for my ESP KH2 since the other regular wall hangar's did not hold the neck due to the angle of the headstock. It makes it look like my guitar is a picture. My only complaint is it does not come with its own screws. But the normal wall hangar screws fit. It is heavier than the regular hangars so make sure its in a stud or use big anchors.
