OVERVIEW

The solution for organizing and holding all your studio gear.

With plenty of room for all your electronic gear, the Studio RTA Producer's Station is the answer to making your workspace more efficient and ergonomic. The main tier is big enough for an 88-key keyboard, and dual 13-space racks on each side keep your rack gear squared away. A 5-space rack holds additional equipment on top and there are dual 8-space CD holders. The upper tier accommodates additional keyboards or a computer monitor. Two smaller sliding tiers hold computer keyboards, and handy cable organizers in back keep them tangle-free and out of the way. Locking casters make the whole system easy to move.

FEATURES
  • 26-1/4" wide slide-out keyboard shelf
  • Ergonomic workspace
  • Dual 13-space lower racks
  • 5-space top rack
  • Pull-out upper shelf

With a few mods this thing can be made to hold a ton of gear and still be dragged around on thick carpet. First off the wood screws that hold the casters on are a joke. No wonder people say the "wheels break." The casters are fine, asking some half inch wood screws to hold them in particle board is not. I drilled holes clear through the bottom panel and ran 1/4 - 20 bolts with nuts through the casters and the bottom panel. You won't see them after filling the racks full of gear.

The "CD holders" serve no purpose except to aid in lateral stability. Without them don't try to push or pull the desk around by the top deck. Without any gear in the top rack it will surely collapse, and I didn't trust it with 4 displays even with some stuff in the rack. I mounted two 6 inch wide 3/4 inch thick pine boards to all three decks on the back with about 18 inches sticking out the top. I then covered this with some laminate flooring for looks, and mounted some TV / monitor wall mounts to the new "back panel." This adds some serious lateral stability to the whole thing. I have actually stood on top of it all. After these mods I had 4 computer monitors, all suspended by the wall mounts about 4 inches above the top deck. This let the MIDI keyboard sit on the top deck.I could fold them all in for moving. As with most setups, things keep changing. The picture shows two 27 inch monitors and a 40 inch TV. Since then the TV has been upgraded to a 43 inch 4K, the Push 1 is now a push 2 and sits on the top deck next to a Trigger Finger Pro. The MIDI keyboards are now on a table off to the right side, and a modular synth is starting to be built on the left side........so Musicians Friend, where is the rolling cart shown on page 79 in the catalog you just sent me? With an added back panel it would be an awesome place to build a modular synth.

Love this as it works great for editing videos and other work that I do. The only problem is that the rack mounts are definitely not made for holding heavy items, like rack mount PC's, or anything that weighs more than a few pounds as the rack mounts are flimsy and only spot welded to the workstation. On the one I have, one of the spot welds was broken out of the box, but I didn't feel like having to ship the whole unit back because of it. Also MAKE SURE where you put it is where you want to keep it because it does not fit out a normal size door withouth having to dismantle it.

Other than that, it's a great workstation and I use it on a daily basis. In fact, I am getting ready to order another one.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

This desk surprised me. I scoured the internet for reviews and videos of this desk. I saw the many complaints and decided to take the plunge because it the cheapest big studio desk on the internet and maybe this planet. I'm impressed with the quality and the ease of putting together. I don't have much equipment so the extra rack spaces in the bottom are not used except for the power conditioner i decided to keep far away from my other equipment.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

A fine work place, with lots of rack space. A little tricky to get to the back of the gear once it's mounted in the lower racks.

A few tips for assembly of this flat box furniture:
-The bag with the two casters in it are locking casters. Place them where you want them first, so that you don't end up having to remove two that you already mounted when you realize this.
-The rack mounts in the top part of the cabinet are directional - there will be a gap at the top, or the bottom once you install your gear. You may want to consider this.
-The stupid CD holder "ears" can be mounted with minimum blood loss if you use the "ears" as a sort of holder of the Allen Key to spin the Key around, thereby tightening the screw. Don't tighten the first screw all the way, so you can use the same technique to tighten the opposite (top or bottom) screw.
-Although the "instructions" specify to hold off tightening the bolts until step seven or eight, go ahead and tighten them BEFORE you flip the table over to right side up. Much less chance of bending bolts, etc. this way.
-Build the desk in the room you would like the desk to fit in. It might not fit through the door.
-A new door cost less than this desk.

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

i wanted a console recording style desk to fill my rack gear in, otherwise I'd have purchased a regular desk from ikea (and not had to pay for rack drawers) for cheaper. not having the ability to place my gear in it, makes this desk next to worthless
has everything you'd want and then some from a desk of this price range, if it was pre assembled correctly, which its not.
The desk is beautiful but.... the rack holes do not line up which makes it useless for me. I called and they say its very likely i'll have to ship this ENTIRE 230 pound desk back. take it all apart, box it up (threw my box out already, the large one of the two). what a stressing migraine headache. the manufacturer knows this is an issue based on reviews yet they seem to be pretty stubborn according to the customer service rep and there is nothing in their info which states they'll just swap out their parts. it's so irritating to have rails that are welded on in the WRONG position. at least if they were screwed on to wood i could fix it myself.
it's a very fair price IF they had decent quality control and u got what you paid for

I have owned a lot of desks but this is probably the best one. I got it to bring all of my work home and needed a space that could accommodate a lot of equipment and computers...4 WORKSTATIONS BELOW. The space I put it in is very small but with the ability for it to roll on 8 wheels was huge...we get behind our equipment. IT IS IMERATIVE TO MENTION CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THIS ONE,,,TWO PIECES WERE DAMAGED AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE MANUFACTURER GOT TOGETHER AND REPACED THE PARTS AT NO CHARGE WITHIN A FEW DAYS...OUTSTANDD!!! I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Really impressed with the quality. There are a few cut corners but for the most part it's sturdy and solid for composite wood. Looks far better than in stock photos

Comments about Studio RTA Producer Station:

I was looking at other studio desks with similar features, and found that they are 2-3 times as expensive. Sure, the pro desks are made of plywood and are probably sturdier, more practical, etc. But for the price, you can't beat this desk! Sure it's fiber board, the rack rails aren't the best in the world, etc. But it's totally adequate for my needs (home recording). And assembly was a breeze and everything fit very nicely together.

I have quite a bit of outboard gear that I needed to rack mount, and had no problem doing so. The only complaint about the rack rails is that the screw holes are a little close to each other in some areas. I.e. you may have to loosen the screws and wiggle things a little bit when you put the next unit in.

I wish that the top shelf was a little wider. I have a pair of Mackie HR824 as well as a pair of Mackie MR5 monitors, and with the 22" LED display in the middle, there's no more room on the top shelf. I don't know why they made it shorter than the lower desk surface.

If you're looking for something truly professional, this desk may not be your first choice, but for the price, you can't beat it! And the way it's designed makes it very sturdy! This thing is on casters (two of the front ones can be latched), but it is a pretty big desk, so don't expect it to go through a standard doorway without disassembling it.

Received product in excellent condition. A bit heavy but when I opened the boxes (2 b0xes) I realized the reason why. Great quality, packaging was excellent, all pieces were in the box. Screws were numbered, and the quality of the desk once put together you can't beat the quality. took about 1 hour to put together, all my equipment, two 27" monitors, 2 AV40 speakers, command 8 mixing board, and an 88 keys keyboard controller and still had more space for more stuff. the racks are strong and hold my 003 rack and three other interfaces with no problem. For the price and the outstanding quality, you can't go wrong.

I got this desk to replace a big-box store desk (which sagged in the middle due to my mixer sitting on it for years). This desk is definitely sturdy enough to never sag due to weight, and has lots of bonus qualities (such as the slide-out tray, which I am using for my oxygen-8 keyboard).
It was very simple to assemble (I'm a 5'2" female; it took me about 2 hours to build) even though it is very heavy. The wheels on the bottom make it Very Easy to move around (big plus), and two of them lock so it won't move unless you want it to.
It was definitely worth the money.
