Comments about Switchcraft Male 1/4" TRS To Male XLR Adapter:

This Adapter comes without the wires soldered. Although the description if you read on webpage states this I purchased without reading that far and then thought I had equipment problems when trying to use it first time. I checked it with ohmmeter and realized this so I took it apart and soldered the wires to the contact points. If you can do this it is fine as long as you know it going in. The packaging or description should depict this. Good for roadie's who sometimes are forced to make custom wiring to match the wiring at different venue's if required. A standard schematic would have been nice in the packaging also I think for the home musician. Excellent quality and perfect for professional roadies to throw into their parts kit.

Quality Connector/ Requires Custom Assembly

Comments about Switchcraft Male 1/4" TRS To Male XLR Adapter:

Worth the money if you can solder and/or solve simple equipment interconnect problems. Not for Amatuers without seaking help. Put them in your toolbox anyway. Someone at the gig will know what to do.!
These are old school audio adapters. They are shipped unterminated to allow an engineer or roadie to wire them in any configuration to match the requirements of the equipment he/she is adating. remember not all mics or mixers are wired the same. These give you the option to follow standard or custom configurations without having to unsolder then resolder wires. You must however, solder them up the first time. When connecting your equipment simply obtain the proper pin-outs for that equipment from the manufacturer or other reliable source, them simply wire your adaapter to match.

A bit pricey for an adapter in my humble opinion. But when you need it, you need it!

Not connected!!

By Nirand

from Ann Arbor, Michigan

Comments about Switchcraft Male 1/4" TRS To Male XLR Adapter:

This is a quality adaptor. The only thing is that the wires are not connected to the pins and you need to solder them yourselves!! I don't know if the fact that you need to solder the wire is common when you buy adaptors or not. But there is no manual or warning on on the package and it took me couple hours to find out that the wire are not connected. (I was so frustrated up to the point where I start to take everything apart.)
