OVERVIEW

The Iron Cobra equips drummers with blinding speed and power.

Tama's Iron Cobra Bonus Package is back by popular demand. In addition to the legendary Iron Cobra Power Glide double bass drum pedal, the pack includes ¢The Cobra Coil (attached) ¢ 4 additional beater heads ¢ a special design Tama mini-flashlight
Tama Iron Cobra Power Glide Double Pedal:
This is the kick drum pedal that can take you to new heights with blinding speed and power that's smoother, quieter, and more sensitive than you ever thought possible. Iron Cobra is the result of Tama's work with numerous drummers in the tireless pursuit of the ultimate pedal.

The Tama Iron Cobra Power Glide Double Pedal is easy to adjust, and has double-chained offset Power Glide cams that provide added acceleration and power to meet any drummers needs.

Power Glide Cams
The best selling Iron Cobra of the series, the Power Glide models, feature double-chained offset cams, which increase power and speed as the beater reaches the end of stroke.

Cobra Pedal Housing
Iron Cobra drum pedals come equipped with nylon insulators for the bearing housings inside the pedal frame. The insulators keep the bearings centered in place and secured in the most stable position. This ensures proper bearing support for the drive shaft without unnecessary stress. The end result of these improvements is the smoothest pedal action possible.

Speedo-Ring
Tama eliminated another source of friction by replacing the traditional nylon rocker cam with the Speedo-Ring, a rocker cam with a high quality built-in ball bearing rocker.

Oiles Bearing Hinge
Offering even less friction than standard ball bearing, Oiles bearings also eliminate side-to-side motion and provide superior durability (which is why they're used in the aerospace industry).

Spring Tight
Twisting springs severely reduce pedal smoothness. Spring Tight, a clever half-moon shaped spring tension rod, keeps the spring from twisting so there's never any loss of power transmission.

Iron Cobra Beater
The Iron Cobra beater adjusts the beater head angle to guarantee a flat hit to the bass drum head every time, translating your strike into maximum power. In addition, it's easy to obtain different bass drum sounds simply by changing the beater head.

Vari-Pitch Beater Holder
Vari-Pitch beater angle adjustments are completely independent of footboard angle. The Speedo-Ring allows you to adjust the angle of the footboard link independently of the beater angle. And with the combination of the Speedo-Ring and the Vari-Pitch, you can achieve any kind of stroke and also enjoy improved playability.

Para-Clamp II
Para-Clamp keeps your pedal flat on the floor no matter what your bass drum angle. The Para-Clamp is tightened from the side so you never have to insert your finger under the footboard. And since you can clamp your pedal to hoops up to 14mm (9/16") in thickness, Iron Cobra will fit just about any bass drum in the market.

Tight Lock
Tight Lock makes sure the beater shaft stays put by fixing and locking the square head bolt, which fixes the beater shaft.

Quick-Hook
Quick-Hook not only allows rapid spring attachment and reattachment for rapid set up and tear down, it also eliminates wobbling and allows maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring. And you never have to worry about it slipping off during performance.

Carrying Cases

You know what pedals go through night after night. After being stomped on over and over, they get thrown in bags and roadcases where there's more hard rock and roll than the gig itself. That's why the Iron Cobras come with a specially designed protective carrying case. It's amazing no one thought of it before.

I just got this pedal today, switching from a dw 5000. I don't give these pedals 5 stars just as a cheesy rating, but because these pedals really deserve it, especially for the price. These pedals seem incredibly well built, and already my feet are faster and with a lot less energy. The adjustments on this thing are limitless. It takes some time to set everything how you want it and get the feel, but it's so worth it. I don't see how anything on these could break either, just take care of it. The cobra coil is absolutely amazing as well. The footboard just sticks to your foot and you'll never outpace the pedal. This thing has the smoothness and meatiness of a heavy chain drive pedal, The quickness of a direct drive pedal, and plenty of other features no other pedal on the market has for a lower price. Buy this, you will not be disappointed.

Guys... I know this pedal has amazing speed and stabile enough. And there's a lot of metal drummer use this pedal... I have Pearl Eliminator and Iron Cobra... This Iron Cobra is good at the first, but after five months, this pedal doesn't have their speed anymore, and the beater is small, doesn't make a good powerfull attack on your bass drum... (try trigger maybe)... but my eliminator never change, has the same feel, speed and attack for 5 years..

Pretty awesome until it breaks.

By Reproacher

from Denver, Colorado

I've played Iron Cobras for a few years now. I love the adjustability and response, and I thought I loved the sturdiness. Then things started breaking for reasons they should not break (normal playing, simple adjustments, etc.). After one piece of the beater holder snapped in half while playing, I noticed from the cross section that the metal used is not great quality...which could explain my problems. Every Iron Cobra user I've talked to has had something break on them, and I'm getting sick of it. I recently played (and loved) the Pearl Eliminators, and haven't heard any horror stories about them...so I think that's my next purchase.

Great pedal gets even better

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

Extreme metal music requires fast, long period , steady, even power double kick. Iron Cobra does all these. Good news for the experienced " ankle action" player. This Iron cobra with coil is for you. You accelerate and decelerate effortless. It takes a while to learn to let the pedal does the work. Playing Iron Cobra double chain drive is easier to play the accurate shuffle break up patter than using the direct drive. Buy it now if you are the double kick enthusiast.

Great pedals overall. Super smooth gliding for fast beats, and very well made. They are easy to use.

After 6 months, boing goes the spring

By John Toussaint

I was surprised after only six months the spring for the right side broke. I have two Yamaha 9000 series singles from the 80's never had a problem. Two Pearl doubles one early 80's the other from around four years ago, never had a problem. The pedal otherwise seems well made and works as smooth, fast, and quiet as any thing I ever seen. I love the case and key that comes with it. Keep in mind that it does say in the owners manual, you should periodically check and if need be tighten all the screws on the unit. Think about it. If something gets loose and you're pounding away on it, it is more likely to break. I'm hoping the spring is just a fluke because I otherwise like the pedal. It is kinda pricey.

God Awful

By Jable The Drummer

I got these Pedals for christmas last year, and there was parts missing, and a random squeeking noise which completely throws me off all the time. The rebound is ok, but the weight of the mallets is terrible, the whole pedal in general just SUCKS!

Best Investment Ever

By Anonymous

Ive used Axis longboards for the last year or so, and those things fell apart beneath my damn feet! Worst of all, 4 days before a big show. So...got fed up and traded em in for something better...got the Tama iron cobras and WOW. The feel has way more control and smoothness than the Axis pedals, and yet I can still do 200+ BPM with same ease as the Axis, but more control. Def. more power for each stroke with these pedals than the Axis. Dont waste another minute debating what pedal your gonna buy...get these bad boys.

Parts Break, no replacement

By KaJeune

from Louisiana

The beater holder broke on mine and Tama told me the discontinued the part. Beater holder, I have heard this exact part problem from many people. Now they don't make them anymore... This is a sad thing for me because I have been a buyer of Tama for years, no more. My pedals were only 1 1/2 year old, this is bull. They need to fix this beater holder problem with better parts for every pedal they sold. I hope everyone sees this and understands that they do not live by what they sell. This week I am buying me a set of Tricks.

Had them for years, but have fixed them for years.

By BeefCakeBass

from El Paso, TX

These pedals are really nice, but in time they will break down on you. I have had them for five years now, but i must admit its time to go with Axis. Several parts have broken and although Tama does fix and repair them, it is still a pain (especially when you have a show). Simply put, these would be excellent starter pedals.
