I received the Iron Cobra in the mail last week. I got it because my old pedal that came with my old set was wearing down. I also heard my favorite drummer also uses this pedal. It comes in a case and the case is nice. It also comes with a little tool/key that stores in a little hole attached to the side of the pedal. As far as looks, the pedal looks great. As far as performance goes, I like it, but there are many different factors that can adjusted on it to fit your preference. This can be good because the pedal can sold to many people and fit their style of playing, BUT it can also be bad because it can take a while (I mean hours of time) to adjust to your liking. I got it to work for me fairly quickly. One thing I didn't like was in the middle of my band's last song the pedal became loose and re-adjusted itself. Because of this my drumming was off, I had to adapt to it's new position within a matter of seconds. It sucked. Make sure before you play to tighten up all the nuts and bolts. I feel like I can adjust this pedal to where I really enjoy it, but the time it takes to make it work is irritating.PROS: Fast, powerful, sturdy, great looks, highly-adjustable-makes it easy for everyone to play on itCONS: Becomes loose during an extended amount of playing, too-adjustable-takes too long to get it right for your style

I bought this pedal recently and thought it would be a great pedal. I then proceeded to spend about 3 hours (no exaggeration there) trying to fine-tune it, but no matter how hard I tried, there was something that didn't work well with every combination. It would be different every time, but there was always something. In general, the biggest problem was that when I tried to do intricate patterns which I could do with my $50 Dixon pedal, it jsut wiggled a little, sometimes grazing the head. I'm trading this in for a pearl.

The Pedal That Will Never Break

By minorj772

from Allendale, MI

This pedal is the best for any touring or studio-based drummer. It will never break, and with Tama you will never be disappointed. No other pedal is better and cheaper than this one. The DW 9000 is great, don't forget that, but this pedal will never disappoint, especially if your on a budget.

best pedal on the market

By hugekick

from colorado

been giggng one for 5 years, have beaten the hell out of it, have had one spring break in all those years... 125 bucks when i got it here on MF, way better, easier to adjust, just as smooth and fast as the other top name pedal, at like a third of the price. cant wait to try the new one with the footboard spring.

Built to kill

By Davey Wasted

from Calgary, AB

Not too long ago i did a step down from a double Gibralter 9611 to using it just as a single. Still a great pedal, I still decided to get an Iron Cobra. I have never heard a complaint and have always had a positive experience. Built like a tank, you can tell it is pretty solid as soon as you take it out from its case. Smooth play, with great reaction if you need a fast stutter or an off time funk, this thing can do it all. Also, the price. For what you pay, you get an epic pedal.

They're quality pedals alright

By Joel-hGq.j

from Green Bay, WI

I've had my Iron Cobras for a while and I'm still trying to find the best possible setting for them I'm getting there.. I don't know what I did but I tweaked my pedal too much that there is this clicking noise and someone already wrote in their review how to fix it but I'm still trying to fix that. Anyway overall these pedals are great and are real quality pedals they're very strong and you can tweak with the settings a lot if you're looking for a new pedal and want a quality pedal that can deliver speed go for this pedal!

A great Bass Drum Pedal

By DSdrummer-UDO93

from Los Angeles, CA

A bought this pedal to replace my old, worn out one, and man was I surprised. I hooked it up and right away from the box, it worked like a dream. No adjustments or tricky doo-dads. It's had the same quality ever since. Breaking it down for transportation is just as easy. The motion is super smooth, and the response is incredible. I would seriously suggest this to a rock drummer.

Great Pedal, Worth Every Penny

By This&that

from Oklahoma City, OK

This pedal is great, it offers unique features that can be adjusted independently, for example the height of the Beater Shaft, can be adjusted without messing up the foot board. This pedal can be played out of the box, but with an essential adjustment, you have to take the Quick Lock attatchment and put it on your washer. I have had this pedal for 3 years, have not have had any major problems, the most common one was the clicking noise in the sprocket, this is very easy to fix, just take the 2mm alen wrench that comes with it, and tighten the screws near the beater shaft, then take the beater, and put it back on the shaft. Overall this pedal wears like a rock, although the pedal is not the only thing on why you are not going fast enough, this gives you time to develop your technique.

Iron Cobra Single Pedal

By JakeOnFiree

from Georgia, US

I'm going to try keep this review short and sweet. So here it goes. This pedal is very smooth. It has no lateral "give" at all. It is also very adjustable; the possibilities are endless. My only two complaints, and they are minor, are the fact that the pedal isn't quite as quick as I'd like it to be (maybe it's just me), and the fact that when I'm playing I alternate between heel up and heel down, and do heel-toe's a lot, and those aren't the easiest things to do on this pedal.

Hard on Iron Cobra

By Josh

from Neponset, IL

Anybody who's ever played a heavy, lame-o, bass pedal will appreciate the speed of this. I've put this thing through absolute hell over the past year and it still holds strong. You are not wasting your money on this purchase. I recommend this pedal over any other top model that I've tried. DW rocks, so buy that if you're interested, but this one is first rate at the very least.

Very Nice Pedal

By maddrummerhef

from Oregon

I purchased the Iron Cobra about two years ago. It has treated me very well with no break downs at all. I found That I was able to adjust this pedal right to my liking with out any troubles at all and I havent had to readjust it since. (although I have adjusted due to changes in playing style for example swithching from heals down to heals up). My teacher has a dw 9000 on his kit and after a 30 minute lesson I am longing for my iron cobra (but in dws defense I am not able to fine tune his pedal to my style)Overall this is a very good buy it lasts long, adjusts easy and feels good
