After just selling my Axis A-L2 Longboard double pedal I purchased a Pearl Eliminator pedal with all 4 of it's cams. Yuk! Hated the action on that pedal so I bought the Iron Cobra. What a suprise. The easy to use adjustments and feel of this pedal made this a no brainer. This baby is built tough too! I think for the money, there is no better pedal out there. I'm a Pearl guy, but it's incredible what Tama did at such an affordable price! Lot's of thought. Thanks Tama.
I bought this pedal after being a long time DW user. Its play was similar to the old DW pedal I had. I didn't like the action on the play. I adjusted the specs on it, but still coulnd't find a setting I felt comfortable playing. I exchanged this Rolling glide for the Pearl Eliminator...you might want to check into that pedal.
I purchased the TAMA Rolling Guide about two years ago,At first the pedal seemed to play well compared to the cheap Yamaha pedal that originally came with my kit. But after a couple of years playing it and after playing a DW Accelerator 5000 I am resigned to say that the Rolling Guide is a good pedal, but I will soon be buying a DW 5000AD Pedal. The mounting system on the RG is funky, it seems that if you don't get the right amount of pressure, the pedal will just come loose and release from the Bass hoop. I also don't like the counter-weight system that TAMA employs, I played a DW right out of the box and I was amazed and the amount of power I got out of that pedal, I do a lot on the kick and the DW responded with ease, I almost put a hole through the kick head. Anyway the TAMA RG is not a bad pedal, but if you are kick oriented, DON'T buy this pedal.
About a month I got an iron cobra for my drum kit and couldn't believe how smooth the feel of the pedal was. With the rolling glide you wouldn't beleive the kick power that you can create with this pedal it is truely one of the best pedals on the market right now.
I recently bought Two Tama Iron Cobra Rolling Glide to go along with my Tama rockstar (9 Piece) and all i can say is amazing!!!! I admit when I first bought them I was a little reluctant because I am very picky about what I buy for my drums, but after a few months of getting used to how to they play I was blown completely away, I was able to play faster and with so much more precision than ever before. I play a lot of heavy metal and the rolling glides let me explore and expand my true talent. Thank You for such a great pedal!
