This stand really has all the features you need in a hi-hat stand. All the height, angle and tension adjustments to get it where you need it and make it match your slave pedal. I personaly think that having height and tension matching the slave pedal is a very big deal when playing a double pedal. The only drawback that keeps me from giving it straight 10's is that as I play the rod seems to come unscrewed from the threads. This may be due to being left handed and the method in witch I play, but it sure is annoying at shows to have to re-tightening it between each song. All and all, I really can't see any other stand being worth the money. I would pay double for the quality, adjustability and function this one has. A+ to Tama!

I have played drums for many years and been in a few bands so I know how important a durable and dependable hi hat stand is! If it even has a chance at giving out at a gig, forget it! This stand has nice features and fits well enough. But what's up with the post coming unscrewed??? I have to keep tightening it after every song! I've got a Percussion Plus stand that doesn't even do that. It's nice but NOT gig worthy. I'll try super glueing the threads hoping that'll stick enough to not come undone. Other than that, Tama can keep it.

3 yr after purchase review

Ask me a question

the HH805 I purchased from MF 3 yrs ago is still as strong as the day I got it. Zero issues. I've used it on recording projects, rehearsals as well as live shows, so I'm beating on this HHstand at least 20 out of 30 days a month. As I said before, Zero issues, nothing comes loose and always depndable. Same thing can be said about the TAMA IRON COBRA double pedal I purchased at the same time.

There are better stands out there.

I was suprised at how quickly everything just fell apart on this thing. There are much cheaper stands out there with a lot more quality.

Iron Cobra- Velo Glide High-hat

Pretty good, i like it. A lot of speed and durability, like all Iron Cobras. Very Road-worthy, i would personally spend the extra money and get the better one.

Just what you'd expect from Tama, a quality piece of equipment. Easy, simple and a smooth action, round out this hi-hat stand, even though it is the less expensive of the IRON COBRA series. I looked at both, and went with the HH805 because of it's simplicity, durability and asthetics. It's pretty stable for a 2 legged HH stand. The little adjustable foot under the footboard is a plus. I made a great choice. Really can't go wrong with either one. I have it paired up with the IRON COBRA HP900RTW double pedal. I would buy this stand again.

This hi-hat stand is unbelievable. It's a reasonable price and is well worth it. Solidly built, and made for endurance.

Awesome stand

I have had this stand for a few weeks and it is great. It?s very smooth and very adjustable. It is probably the smoothest stand I have ever played with and it looks great next to my Iron Cobra bass pedal, which they actually make a bracket to lock them together. It?s also very durable and portable as well. Tama always seems to think of new ways to make your equipment easier to travel with. Its built solid and the tilt function helps a lot. I would recommend this to anyone.

A hi-hat stand. I bought mine a few years ago (maybe 5 or 6) and it still works just a well as it did then. I really trust tama hardware. The foot board is solid and moves quickly. The tension adjustment is very easy to use. It doesn't have any real spectacular or unusual features. It's just a great feeling hihat stand.
