I've been using the cheap stands for a long time, and didn't realize what I was missing. The fittings all seem to stay nice and tight, and I never have that "help, my microphone is sinking!" moment mid-song. I move back and forth between guitar and piano, and the stand adjusts easily, and stays where I put it. I definitely recommend this stand.

Unit arrived with a STRIPPED grip tightener on the main shaft. Remarkable. AND Useless. These cut-rate mic stands are a scam, intended to rip off young musicians on a budget. Spend more and buy something that works and is designed to last more than a month. Garbage.

Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
It's worth it to pay more and get something that will work. I have purchased many od the 45 to 50 dollar stands and they are all junk..

Good, Solid, Well Made
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
it has the standard adjustment hardware, tripod base, and very well made and sturdy. Looks built to last for what I do.
again, this is a well made stand with a good weight to it. Since I don't try to beat up my equipment, this stand will probably last me until my kid starts a band and destroys it, just to see if he can do it.
IMO - this is the best value mic stand. Can't beat this stand for quality/price. I'm am acoustic solo/duo and normally bought "cheap" stands, but decided to get a good stand for gigs going forward since the gaskets wear out on the cheap ones. I am very happy with my purchase and the chrome is sharp.
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
I am buying another one for my partner....that should tell you how I feel about the product. Tama put out a quality product at an affordable price that's built to last. Other companies should take note.
It's boom mic stand, so it's got boom mic features. Very sturdy, good weight, and the hardware looks to be strong and long-lasting. Stainless and metal/hard plastic, not cast which suits me fine.
this is the best quality mic stand I've owned personally. I'm a solo/duo acoustic player, so this stand will probably last until my son starts a band and destroys it, if that's possible.
no question....great, great, great value!!!
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
Always took my stand for granted and learned to live with the sinking mic, tipping, hard to loosen adjusters. I use an Elvis mic which is heavy and this stand has no problem keeping it in place. It's easy to adjust and sturdy. Sorry I didn't invest in a quality stand sooner, makes life easier for sure.
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
This is just a great no nonsense mic stand. It stays where you put it and it's nice and heavy and solid. I'm glad I got a couple of these already and I'm planning on gettin more as I need them.
I feel like I could just kick this thing and it would just laugh at me. Right out of the box you can tell it's going to be a good product. It's nice and heavy, all the clamps are well built and hold like there's no tomorrow. All in all it's a very sturdy stand and stays where I put it with no problems, just like a good mic stand should.
More expensive than some, less expensive than others. I've bought a stand and it broke within a couple of months. I was a little apprehensive about putting this much into a mic stand but I'm glad I did. If first impressions mean anything this thing is going to last for a long time. Well worth the money to buy something that will last for years rather than spend less on one that will only last a couple of months.

Unboxed it, adjusted it, locked it and done. It's been 3 weeks and it's still solid, even though it gets moved around a lot.
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
First rate quality and heavy duty construction.
The Tama are hands-down superior in every way.
I first bought the six-pack of budget stands that came with the zipper case.
It turns out the case was the only part of value.
The budget stand clutches are pure junk.
I own three Tama boom stands and one shorty for drum mics.
These are built like Hummers and hold up over the long haul.
The clutches are well thought out, rugged, and never require a gorilla with vise grips for tightening.
At the MF selling price, plus free shipping, the Tama are a real steal.
I wish they offered the shorty, but do not.
Comments about Tama MS205 Boom Mic Stand:
This thing is just stupid solid, right out of the box you can tell. It's assembly pieces seem safer than others," like it will last much longer. I go through about a mic stand a year and I finally decided to spend a bit more (even though this is still a pretty moderately priced stand) and get this one because I have the ""shorty"" version of this that I use to mic my amp and occassionally my drummer's snare. I had never seen a stand that solid", so I went for this one and I am not let down a bit!
