OVERVIEW

Load a tune, slow it down, add a track.

TASCAM is reinventing music education once again with the LR-10 Instrument & Vocal Trainer/Recorder. Like their CD and MP3 trainers and recorders, the LR-10 can slow down and loop MP3 files without changing their pitch to help musicians learn new songs and licks. The latest generation features CD-quality recording with overdub to build up an arrangement or record rehearsals with the internal microphone. The SD card slot includes a 2GB card, and the new tabletop design makes them the perfect tools for music students, hobbyists or professionals to perfect their instruments.
TASCAM's LR-10 is designed for strings, wind players, keyboardists, vocalists or any other musician. Use it to loop and transcribe your favorite music, record lessons or capture new song ideas. The LR-10 has a built-in microphone and speaker for recording and playback. A chromatic tuner is also included, as well as a metronome for precision playing.

I have an Akai phrase trainer that I've used for a few years. It has some very useful features, but the recording time is limited. It has no internal storeage and loses everything when it loses power. It has a loop feature, but once it's set you can't change the in and out points. It has a few features the Tascam doesn't have, and doesn't have all that the Tascam does. For example, it has a note capture feature that captures a single note. The Tascam doesn't have that one feature. I found the Tascam manual a little confusing about looping. There are a few typos and I had to experiment to find the correct procedures. Most of the features I may never use. I'm mainly concerned with looping and the huge amount of storeage space. Also the convenience of being able to upload from my computer. I can keep all of the songs I have to rehearse often in one convenient place. The speaker is not totally useless, I used it when I was learning some of the features. The display can be dificult to read under some lighting conditions. But, overall, I'd say I got my money's worth. I bought it on black Friday for under 40.

Lots of flexibility here! Metronome, tuner, built in speaker (use headphones for serious work), CD quality recording. Plays most kinds of files. Easy computer use. Overdub a set of lyrics over a worked out set of chords or melody. Extraordinarily useful.

    I'm very dissapointed.
I purchased it on sale for under 40 .But its very low level volume speakers makes this device just a junk.I'm going to return this device to Musician Friend.Tascam LR-10,is my worst experience with my
Tascam products. It made my "Blak Friday" purchases bad feellings...So,when something is on a very big"special" sale....Always be carfule guys!!

Comments about TASCAM LR-10 Instrument & Vocal Trainer/Recorder:

Talk about "Bang For The Buck" , what a blast to use. Just starting playing with it, but so far the instructions have guided me through. Lots of different ways to record, input, play back, arrange, and modify the music. The tuner and metronome are handy , too. Has run for hours on batteries, although an AC power supply is available. Sounds GOOD through headphones or speakers. Just like a mini recording studio that can be carried in your pocket. The practice features for loop, pitch and tempo are nice. Overall, for what I paid, very happy and satisfied. Looking forward to exploring all its possibilities. So far using it with guitars, vocals,Youtube and MP3. GREAT !

Comments about TASCAM LR-10 Instrument & Vocal Trainer/Recorder:

Great small inexpensive unit. The manual is a bit confusing but after working with it a few times you learn how to use it. My only gripe is on my unit the internal speaker is very weak making it difficult to hear if the ambient noise is loud. A larger backlit display would be nice but probably would add to the cost. Also the supplied batteries were doa so make sure you have a fresh set handy.

I brought this to help me with my multi-instrument practice. Works great and the simple overdubs are helpful. I think the sound quality is great for a tiny box. I plan to use it to make rote recordings of new pieces for my non-reading friends. Back light display and a USB rechargeable battery would be welcome features.

Comments about TASCAM LR-10 Instrument & Vocal Trainer/Recorder:

I purchased this from MF on a stupid deal of the day for under 40.00. Got it today, loaded a few songs via the line in input. It took a few minuets to figure it out. The key to keeping it from distorting, is lowering your input level to around 7, or until the peak light doesn't light up. I then when out of the Tascam out jack into a speaker system and worked like magic. I does everything I expected it too and them some. For the money I spent, the purchase I made was a very good one for me.
