I purchased this cable for a different use than most. I use it on a traditional double pickup
electric guitar with two volumes and two tones. When using both pickups together it is frustrating
to try and turn both volumes up and down while trying to keep the same mix.
PROBLEM SOLVED !
This works great as a master volume. Just turn everything up or down without fooling around
trying to keep the same mix. This cable seems to be well made. It works smoothly and I especially like the shut off feature. My only gripe is the price. It seems very expensive but it is a one time expense. One you buy it, it doesn't eat anthing.
SUGGESTION: Why doesn't someone make an adapter without the cable attached. Plug the adapter into the guitar and plug a regular cable into the adapter and there you would have it.

I bought this when I bought my Taylor 414ce, because it's great to have an on off switch when you are switching from one guitar to another if you are performing with other guitarists and don't want to deal with bringing the volume down at the mixing board. It worked great for a few coffee house gigs, but then didn't work anymore after that. No sound at all! I'm glad it didn't cut out while I was playing my gig, but I didn't expect it to stop working so soon, since I payed a lot of money for it. I'm sending it back to the manufacturer. I hope they send me a new one that works. This is why I bring extra guitar chords to gigs.
I like the cord and the idea, so I hope the next one they send me work!

Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
If you dont have any kind of volume control on your acoustic electric this is a fine peice of equipment. Do not use this if you already have some kind of volume control on your GUITAR

Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
Despite the poor reviews, I spent a wad on this cable and paid for next day shipping to boot. I have a Taylor acoustic guitar with an active piezo and no volume control. I wanted a cable with a right-angle plug, and, even though it was expensive, thought this could work great. I plugged it into the snake and fiddled with the knob but got no sound. We increased my volume on the mixing board and were greeted with horrendous feedback. After another minute of adjusting, the sound from my usually excellent sounding guitar was so bright and brittle, I couldn't listen to it. The volume control never really did much. It was mostly sound or no sound, which I can get with a regular cable. I ended up using my regular cable and packed this one back up to return.

Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
My guitars have a name brand pickup mounted on the soundboard, but with no controls on the instruments. This cable with the volume control really helps when working in an environment where it is desirable to change the volume from time-to-time.
At this point the cable and volume control are working very well. I have heard that the volume pot won't hold up in the long run, but the way I use it I expect it to last and work well for a long time.
It is a little pricey but it is a high quality product that appears to be worth the investment.

It works but not well. I have a Guild that I had a Fishman Neo installed. Great pickup but no volume control. I wasn't crazy about a preamp and did'nt want to cut a hole in it so I thought this would be perfect since it was a Taylor product. Very disappointed. for the price and brand I expected better.
It works but you have to turn it two thirds of the way up before it even kicks in. That means that you have to crank your amp up to max just to play it. My guitar is louder with a regular cord. I should have just bought the pre-amp. Now I have to pay for both. Save your money.
Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
Great product for guitars that have pick ups but no volume controls. I have several vintage guitars that have Martin thin-line Gold pick up installed and always had to go to the amp to adjust volume. I cant beleive someone has not come up with this product before now! Plus i can keep my guitars original looking without having knobs sticking out.I have had no problem with this device what so ever.
I love the on - off feature. Very smooth operation.
High quality you would expect from Taylor
Worth the money
Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
Instrument cable with volume and on/off control.
Would buy it again. Two comments: the cable is stiff and wants to tangle easily. The packaging states that the cable is not intended for passive piezo, however it seems to work fine with several that I have.
good product
Comments about Taylor V-Cable Guitar Cable With Built-In Volume Control:
Not a good value. WAY overpriced for an inferior product.
I trired the V-cable, in lieu of reading a few reviews that it worked well, and still came to the
same conclusion ... go back to the drawing board, Taylor ! Not only did the unit have static
and crackling while turning the knob, the volume dissipates exponentially as you turn the volume
knob back from maximum. Needs to have a better attenuation device built in.
I also have STILL Not gotten credit for returning this cable as of Feb. 7th (over a week ago.)

Not recommended
You know, I thought this was just what I needed.
I used it three weeks (4 hour gig once a week) and was thrilled with it until the pot gave up and started giving erratic amounts of volume while playing and without touching the Knob. Tried electric spray contact cleaner to no avail.
Cables, especially this one are overpriced, even if this one worked it is overpriced, but I really thought it was what I was needing so...............
