Yes these are pricey but it definately does reduce feedback and the looks it adds to your guitar is unsurpassed by anything out there. I tried the rubber plug and none of them fit a Seagull Entourage with a 3 7/8" soundhole. Besides why put an ugly black rubber plug in your guitar that muffles the natural sound of a beautiful guitar when one of these are available that can truly enhance the sound and beauty of a truly fine instrument. Enough said, spend the money it's more than worth it.

My wife and I run our Martin and Taylor guitars and our Rode mics through our Yamaha PA into Bag End speakers. The Rodes are very hot mics and require careful EQ'ing to eliminate feedback, leaving us little flexibility for further EQ'ing to control the guitars. The Luteholes looked like an elegant solution. Not so. Without the Lutehole inserted, we experienced low feedback problems on open E and A strings and on a fretted low G. With the Lutehole, we experienced -- surprise! -- low feedback problems on open E and A strings and on a fretted low G. There really was little difference in sound or control (and this was using the moderate-coltrol Lutehole model). In addition, because the LuteHole surface sits slightly higher than the guitar top, it occasionally interfered with my fingerstyle picking. And finally, because I'd ordered the maple Lutehole to match my sitka spruce top as closely as possible, the strings over the Lutehole were more difficult to see.
Looks great. Does nothing.
Very ornate carving. Very ineffective feedback control.
A grossly overpriced windowscreen.

Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Cover for Feedback Control:
I have two other types of rubber sound hole covers. They both seems to take away the natural sound of my Martin Performing Artist GPCPA4R. When run through the PA, actually the electronics seems to be improved greatly as compared to using the rubber sound hole covers. Fits the Martin perfectly.

Nice!
Not only does it reduce feedback, but it make my bass look great
Much cheaper than if I had bought it from thier website!
Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Cover for Feedback Control:
great value and quality for the price.
Ran across these online somewhere and checked to see if Musician's Friend had them. Yes, I ordered a light and could not be more pleased. Great quality and sure does dress up the guitar. I am online now and just ordered a second for another guitar, and it is my 'couch' guitar and does not even have a pickup in it. Only took a few minutes with a rotary tool to sand down to fit for the fret board, fits nice and snug. Higher craftsmanship than I expected, exceptional!!!

Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Cover for Feedback Control:
I am very happy with my new lutehole cover. It is beautiful and reduces feedback by about 75%. It will change the sound of the guitar and I would not use it with a mic, but through my Fishman loud box it is perfect.
Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Cover for Feedback Control:
I have a Foggy Mountain guitar and my fretboard intrudes into the hole signficantly. But, I took a chance and bought this product anyway... Come to find out, the hole on my guitar is just a smidge smaller also. But, determined to have something to accentuate the beauty of my guitar as well as the sound, I had my dad trim a little off the top, and I carefully trimmed the foam and it fits perfectly, looks beautiful, and sounds MAGNIFICENT!!! Totally worth the extra work. In fact, I'm ready to buy a second lighter one for different needs. I highly recommend!
Comments about The Lute Hole Company 4" Soundhole Cover for Feedback Control:
This is a great alternative to the ugly rubber plugs that are often used for feedback suppression on acoustic guitars. The lutehole actually makes my Taylor guitar sound better when it is plugged in. I don't know if it is dampening some of the undesirable overtones but the tone is more crisp and focused. The lutehole eliminates feedback without killing your tone. What more can you ask? Oh, and it also looks beautiful. Highly recommended.
