Comments about Thomastik AC112 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium Light:

The fourth and fifth strings are not flat round, they are round wound.
Since the combination described is what caught my interest I was a little disappointed when the string package described the fourth and fifth string as wound round. Since they were the right gauge I went ahead and had the guitar set up for them.
The tone is excellent, but they have the typical round wound squeak I wanted to stay away from. I play kind of a combination flat pick and finger style using a bumble bee thumb pick and am working on my chord melody technique. I was hoping for a nice tone when picking out a bass line without the squeak on the chord transitions. Since I usually use the fourth string in chords and frequently use the fifth I thought the combination described worth a try.
While I doubt that I will buy these again my next set will likely George Benson flat wounds from the same brand. They are top quality stings, just not the ones for me.

Comments about Thomastik AC112 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium Light:

I reviewed these back in July when I put my first set on and stated that time will tell if they are worth the money. Well, let me tell you THEY ARE! People will think I'm crazy, but the same set is on the guitar. Yes they are ready to be changed, but try that with Martin's or any others. Try these, you won't be sorry!

Comments about Thomastik AC112 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium Light:

I've played Martin Marquis .12-.52 for years and decided to try these. I love the 1st and 2nd strings in the Martin set, but the low end is so much better with these. As to whether or not they're worth the extra cost...well time will tell.

          2nd try

Comments about Thomastik AC112 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium Light:

don't know why they did not print my other review, so will try again. Everything the other reviewer said is true, these are nice strings, subdued compared to coated strings, but soft on the fingers and the heavy bass is great. The discription is off a little as to which are flatwound; they do sound and feel very good, but when one goes dead, it's as bad as a break (almost) as it is totally "thud", but all in all, they hold up well, are much less bright, and feel great on the fingers with a fat bottom-end.

          Best Strings Ever!!

Comments about Thomastik AC112 Plectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings Medium Light:

Have always played Elixirs but thought I would give these a try for only a couple of bucks more......WOW! Basses are full without being boomy. Tone is full across the spectrum and the highs aren't quite as brite as other strings. I play mostly fingerstyle with a little bit of "hum 'n strum" too on a Martin DC16-R. I'm totally sold on these strings!!
