Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

After trying many different kinds of bass strings through the years, these are consistantly the best. They are expensive, but you get what you pay for and the long life and added tone and quality make them worth the cost.

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

Thomastik has been making steel-core bass strings since 1919. They know what they're doing. These are the most expressive and musical rounds I've ever played.

Played with bare fingers, they're as sensitive as a classical guitar.

Played with a pick, they have a far wider range of dynamics than most rounds and don't "clank" like some do.

There's a reason they cost more. The upside is that they keep their tone a really long time.

        Just... WOW

        By Andrew Smith

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

Seriously... who rates bass strings? Not me... until now. For years I've thought that my Fender Mex Jazz Bass or my low end DI were the problems with my awful bass tone in my mixes. I was wrong.

These strings have literally turned my bass into a new instrument. Yes, the price seems ridiculous. I can absolutely promise you, after going through a lot of string brands, that they are worth the price. The sound really DOES start with the source.
High price, but worth every penny.

        Best bass string!!!

        By Waksfly

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

I have tried many strings from EB, d'addario, roto and fender. Nice when new but after a couple of days of playing they tend to lose their tone n sustain. So i tried TI power bass EB344 thru brother dave's recommendation and voila! A string that has nice feel, tension, sustain and tone. Nothing comes close with the quality of this string. Very reliable...I just love the feel and output of this set even when playing without an amp while practicing alone. I love it and im gonna use this set forever!

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

I generally use flatwound strings on my Alembic Bass, but I decided to try something different...roundwounds. I am glad I did! What a difference it makes in my playing and overall sound. I'll be buying more sets for my other basses. TI's are more expensive than the average bass strings but "you get what you pay for"!

        Strings With ZING

        By Brother Dave-MLJxZ

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

The same set of EB344's has been on my #1 daily players for over 11 months. They MIGHT just now be losing a tad of their original zing but still beat a set of brand new anything else. For hard rocking, hard country, metal or anything else requiring an extra zing to it, these hot output strings deliver. They are so flexible that you will think they are fragile, but I've actually TRIED to break them and they just take the abuse. Max out the treble for an edge that cuts through titanium. The EB344 set is my favorite bass string EVER. Worth the cost and worth the wait if they are on backorder because nothing else is close.

        The NUCLEAR bass string!

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

Thomastik-Infeld EB344's are the best roundwounds I've ever had on my passive '53 P-bass. Their startling tonal range & hot output beats any other string I've tried. Hyper-responsive with good sustain when played gently yet the combination of medium tension and high output yields a shocking thump when popped. I've had the same set on my daily player for 10 months and they still make my passive single coil P-bass sound more active. The negatives are finger noise and fretwear concerns inherent in all roundwounds. The extended life actually makes these less costly than other strings because these don't go dead overnight and there's no coating to flake off. Great for LIVE R&B, funk, hard rock or blues rock. Definitely not your "old-school" sound. They make solos truly stand out! The perfect string for your Mike Dirnt, Sting or '51 reissue P-bass if you want to knock down walls! For playing live they're the nuclear bomb of bass strings.

The Perfect Bass String 4 Me

Comments about Thomastik EB344 Medium-Light Power Bass Roundwound 4-String Bass Strings:

Lots of bassists in-the-know use Thomastik-Infeld strings and recommend them. Carol Kaye even sells their Jazz Flats as a service to her students and are the only strings she uses or sells. I tried those Jazz Flats first and they were ok but lacked a certain zing or "oomph" I was seeking. Next I tried these POWERBASS strings and "BINGO" I found the perfect string for me and my style. The "features" include high output & a quality feel. Since I've had the same set on my #1 bass which is played almost daily for 7 months with no discernable tone degradation I believe that like their JAZZ FLATS the POWERBASS strings are top quality and an excellent value too. Overall, my favorite string for now. Works very well on a passive bass thanks to the high output.
