These are by far the softest, smoothest strings I have ever used. I have tried the medium lights, but prefer the lights. I have these installed on my Gretsch 6120 and Fender Jazzmaster
Over the past 40 plus years I have used many different strings. I have been using these for over a year now and like them the best of any other.
The quality is very good
These are expensive but worth every penny.

I have used both these and the heavier JS 113's and strongly prefer the 113's. They are smoother, last longer, and have much more punch and nuance than the lighter strings. The 111's tend to break and rust much earlier than do the 113's, and like I said do not have as much subtlety. This may not sound like it makes sense, but trust me--go heavy!

I've had them on for a month now, I play everyday or every other day. They still sound brilliant. Best feeling strings ever. Lightest flats ever, too.

These strings are amazing! They glide and yet aren't so extremely different from roundwounds in feel. They still have the bite of normal string, but shine for finger picking.

Comments about Thomastik JS111 Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years. On my solid bodies I use D'Addario nickel wound 10s. I even use them for my Semi-hollow bodies. I've never really liked flatwound strings so I just put some 11s on those.. I acquired a couple of spruce top guitars and put D'Addario flatwounds on them. I liked the feel but the sound wasn't quite what I wanted. I read that George Benson used his own set of Thomastiks. I thought they were a little expensive so I was hesitant. Curiosity finally got the best of me so I bought a set of flatwound 11s. Put them on my Epiphone Broadway. They felt and sounded so great I ordered another set and put them on an Eastman AR810-CE. These strings caused both guitars to project so much more acoustically that I can not play the Eastman at night while others are sleeping unless I use my thumb!! When amplified they both sound fantastic!! It's like they came alive!! I have to try them on the ES-175!!

My second set, first on a Godin Kingpin and these on the old Gibson ES120T. This is the first time I have put strings on a guitar and thought, "Wow, these are really different" since they quit making Nashville Straights 35 years ago.

Comments about Thomastik JS111 Light Flatwound Jazz Swing Electric Guitar Strings:

These Strings are the most expensive that I have ever purchased. I installed them on a Gibson L-4, and they do sound great, however, I have not had them on long enough to tell about the longevity. They feel somewhat harsh at first, being used to lighter gauge round wound, but it takes less pressure to note these strings.

The extra fabric wrap on each end of the string is a beautiful touch, however, it somewhat interferes with bass string installations. Perhaps I am attempting to get too many wraps around the tuning peg, usually try to get at least 3.

I am not an accomplished player capable of taking advantage of the guitar nor the strings, but they have a pure tone. I have been more of a Flat Top acoustic player, learning Bluegrass licks, and recently got out the electric boxes, and just purchased this L-4. Quite a beautiful guitar, 1990 model, but the neck is wider than what I like, and the frets are just a little fat for my preference. My ES-150, 1968 model, has a smaller neck with smooth frets.

I am expecting great things and a long life from these George Benson's, however, I must admit, they did not help me sound one bit like him! Now if I can just find the right Amp, tonal characteristics, and the fountain of youth for my hands, perhaps all that will change.

I have been playing guitar for 50 years, matched with my Heritage Eagle and H-575 these are the best stings one can use for jazz delivering superior tonal quality and long life.

These went on a Godin Kingpin. They stayed in tune right away. They are very smooth and there is no finger noise when sliding notes and cords. They are great very high end strings. One thing I do want to let other guitar players know is that you will lose a little acoustic volume when playing a archtop unplugged. So for me I would not use them again on my Kingpin because I do play unplugged often. Plugged in they sound great.Hope this helps.

Just got these for my semi acoustic Ibanez AS103 and I am delighted. I love the tone, mellow, but not "boomy" on the bass strings like other sets of strings I have tried. That could be because of the relatively low gauge of the bass strings, for a set of 11's. They have a soft feel which I really like. Great for solo jazz guitar as there is virtually no string noise. I only play jazz so can't comment on their suitability for other styles of music.
