I got this case for free from a friend who didn't need it and noticed i didn't have a hard shell case for my guitar. It was used and a little beat up but honestly i think it looks better with that road-worn look. :) as for protection, this case is fantastic. I have, a taylor 114ce, and it keeps it really snug inside and doesn't let it move around much. It has a compartment inside, like most cases do, for a tuner or capo or extra strings or whatever you would like. Maybe its just me, but this compartment seems to be bigger than most other cases i've tried. I easily fit extra strings, a capo, a rather large tuner, pin puller, a guitar tool, a string winder, and wire cutters in it without any trouble. This case is truly a great value. buy with confidence. :)
I recently bought a Takamine EG363SC and needed a case. I saw this and thought about it for a while and bought it. My guitar fits good, nice and tight on the bottom bout (16") it is a little tall, but that's fine. The padding is nice and thick, the accessories compartment is large enough for 4 sets of strings, my clip on tuner, picks, and a string winder. It's a Great case for better than average protection, and well worth the money. It did have a very slight glue smell, But I left it open for 24 hours and it was gone. Great case, I am happy I bought it.
This TKL Premier case is the TKL model 7815. This is their lowest level plywood model, with limited padding inside, a small cargo box, and three latches. You can find the dimensions on the TKL website. It is 16" across the lower bout, which is why I bought it. I built a 16" Martin M size (0000) guitar and needed a relatively inexpensive case. The guitar fits fine in the length and lower bout. It's a little loose in the upper bout, but I knew it would be. I like the tweed. It is less heat-absorbent and looks cool. A 15.5" dreadnought will be a little loose in this case, but if you have a guitar that it a tight squeeze in some other dread cases, this might be the answer. I've owned many TKL cases, and they seem to hold up fine if they're not abused. The covering is thick Tolex-like material. The hardware seems firmly attached. And the case doesn't smell like nasty glue like some other cheap cases do. I wouldn't fly with this case, I wouldn't keep a $3000 guitar in it, and I wouldn't let your drummer stand on the top, but it will keep your guitar from getting bumped and beaten up. There might be better cases for the $$, but not tweed ones in this size, and if you work the discounts right, it can really be a good deal.
