OVERVIEW

Feel the difference, play to your fullest potential.

The Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal features a unique, remarkable construction. This pedal is actually 2 single pedals joined as a double. Unlike the standard slave pedal, these pedals are linked with an advanced universal joint system which is far less messy. This innovatively designed pedal possesses the features of the original Pro 1-V Detonator with several adjustments. For example, it features a one-piece long footboard. Formed with incredible aerospace materials like stainless and hardened steel, billet aluminum, and titanium, this pedal is built to last.Independent Split-Cam System With this feature, you can easily adjust the beater drive' angle within a full 360 range. Within seconds your Pro 1-V Detonator can be converted to a triggering pedal or a cocktail kit pedal. This smooth adjustment transitions into sturdy positioning so you can rest assured that the pedal' action will be solid throughout your playing.Multi-Position Stroke Adjustment Cluster This patent-pending 3 position cluster offers the drummer separate adjustments. Separately tweak and manipulate the pedal action, throw, and footboard angle. Compression Spring Technology The Big Foot Double Pedal has an internal spring that efficiently uses energy. The result is a pedal that can always keep up with your foot speed. The stroke and action is always fluid as the spring works in conjunction with the profiled cam follower to reduce tension build up. Additionally, the spring tension can be simply adjusted as you play. Instead of having to remove the pedal from the hoop to adjust tension, this technology allows you to adjust it with a simple dial.Footboard and Base Plate Both the footboard and the base plate are formed from resilient billet aluminum. The base plate provides a super sturdy platform for the pedal and can withstand over 12,000 PSI. The footboard is securely attached to the heel plate with a hardened solid steel pin. It is fracture tested to 12,000 lb per square inch.Beaters With a standard drum key, the beaters can be easily adjusted to any height or angle. Manipulate these beaters along the titanium shafts so that they strike the exact part of the bass drum that you desire. Regardless of how you position your beaters, the natural feel of the pedal under your foot is unaffected. There is also the option to switch out Hard/Soft surface options with these beaters.Slide-Trac Rapid Release Hoop Clamp This clamp makes setup easier and quicker than ever. No longer do you have to fumble with screwing and unscrewing wing nuts. Instead this clamp enables the pieces to slide together which also permits the pedal to fit perfectly with any brand of bass drum hoop. There are also 3 memory set screws so the hoop size and distance from the head can be pre-set for consistent setup time after time.

I tried Trick because they are very interesting pedals. I wanted to see if they would be easier or better than what I am using. But... the truth is for me I could not do anything more on these Trick Pedals than I could on my current pedals. I also didn't care for the way the Bass drum hoop clamp on the trick pedal does not adjust tension wise and the fixed pressure from it will bite into your bass drum hoop something fearce so be prepared to renforce your hoop with something unless this does not bother you. I did like the way the Trick Shaft was machined that connects the two pedals. No play in it what so ever but it really didn't make any difference compared to what I have when it comes to playing. I could do singles Doubles and 32nds no faster on the trick pedals than I could on my current pedal. My Current pedal is also a direct drive and it does nothing less as far as play ability than the Trick. The separate adjustments on the Trick pedal being the foot plate and the beater really do nothing for me. For instance,if I want to move my beater back a bit more but then I want to move my foot plate back forward to keep it where it was,.. in reality does not keep things the same as far as what you might be used to. Because I still have to then push down further to hit the drum. All of these adjustments really took me nowhere. Something I discovered was that it is necessary to have the beater and foot plate move together when adjusting beater angle or plate height. I learned that I didn't want them to be separate. The Trick Beaters I really like! They are balanced really well and adjust the best so I have a pair I bought for my current pedals. The Tricks Linkage had the same amount of play in it that my current pedals have. I also didn't like Trick's Warranty on their pedals. It states that Trick will cover the major parts of the pedal for two years...things like bass mount and foot plate. Big deal. You will have to replace any springs or anything like Bearings or linkage if needed is what I am understanding from reading their warranty. The Trick Bearings are also exposed to the atmosphere too unlike my current pedals. The Spring system is interesting but again,no quicker than what I am using nor more comfortable. The Trick was not any less comfortable but not any different really when it came to playing. As far as adjusting the spring with such quick ease, I found that it didn't really matter. When was the last time you ever heard of a drummer needing to reach down between songs to adjust his or her springs? Interesting design but not really as needed as you might think or they might say. About the only thing I kept from the trick was their Beaters for my current pedals. I have used my current pedals with spring tension up all the way for about 4 years now with no problems what so ever. My pedals are made in Yamaha's Motor Cycle shop and they are Yamaha Flying Dragon Direct Drives. As far as playing goes they do nothing less than the Trick system for me and after trying the Trick system I even found a new respect for my Dragons. Now Trick is very nice indeed. I know they will work for many here as we can read from others and this is very good. Can't go wrong with Musician's Friend either. But I shipped them back and was refunded my $$. For now I am fine with what I am using even though it seemed to be worth a try.

Not a bad pedal, better than axis longboards and pearl demonators by a long shot but the pricing is what threw this in the "absolutely not an option" bin. These are great for fast double bass playing, whether heel up, heel down, heel-toe, or swivel/ankle motion is used. The spring tension is an easy adjustment by just turning a knob and the fact that unlike most (not all) lower priced double pedals, even the DW9002, this can be split into two individual pedals with near infinite adjustment possibilities ranging from footboard height to spring tension to beater distance, you name it. Honestly, I went with the Czarcie Kopyto custom pedals (the same ones Inferno of Behemoth, Kerim "Krimh" Lechner of Septic Flesh, ex-Decapitated, and many more infamous death metal drummers use, including Paul of Cannibal Corpse) ordered custom made with an inverted cross engraving on each of the pedalboards. Honestly, for the price of the Pro-1V Bigfoot pedal, you can get a lot better bang for your buck with the czarcie's, yes they are a tad more expensive because they are made on the per-order basis straight from the headquarters in Poland but the width of the footboard near where your heel would rest is about 50% wider allowing much more ease when using the swivel technique (think George Kollias of Nile or James Payne ex-Hour of Penance, just to name a few). And not to mention these (the Trick pedals) dont come in a flight case, but on the contrary, you dont have to wait 6 months for the pedals to be made. I'll leave the choice up to you, but PLEASE try before you buy.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

These pedals are unlike any other I've played. For my 4 years of playing. I've had to Battle with every set of pedals I've owned. That help build up my strength and precision so that when i finally saved up (for a year)and purchased these, i saw all my hard work flow right through these pedals. EVERY song that I played that i struggled through I can NOW play smooth, 100% on time, and keep my balance on the rest of my kit.Pros: Super smooth. Easily adjustable. Light. Totally customizable. Great looking. Kick-a$$ beaters. Has options to use punch or speed. And can i say again. SMOOTHCons: No case with order (they now have one out, thanks trick!).Summary: That's it. I know the price will scare you but if you have the discipline to save up for them, you will smile upon these pedals everytime you walk past them. It took me a year to afford these, but after all the research and testing, these pedals are WELL worth the pretty pennies. I could go on for a long time about these pedals. They are worth it, and I refuse to go with any other company for my drum needs now. Trick is where it's at. Made by drummers, for drummers.

Within an hour I was able to to adjust and start delivering blasts that I had been struggling with for years. Instead of feeling like a distance runner on 16th's it was effortless. These pedals are smooth beyond compare with anything out there and built like a beefy Swiss watch. The height of precision. Hats off to Trick for making such an awesome product right here in the states.

The best pedals, hands down, nothing else close. I've had Pearls (dominator and demon drive), DW's, Iron Cobra, and a few other forgettable pedals.... These kill them. The only way I can see someone would have problems with them is if they don't take the time to set them up properly or if they have calves the size of toothpicks. They are big as hell and are built like a tank (and weigh as much).

If ya have the cash, get em. If ya don't, save up. They will be the last pedals ya ever need.

Sturdy, highly robust and can definitely take a beating, without any signs of foot-board sway or unwanted pedal movement. The action of the pedals is so smooth that you forget you are actually playing with pedals, instead it just feels like the biological output of your brain through your feet is going directly into the kick drum. You barely have to think about your feet-pedal relationship, once you find the right setting, you instruct your feet to do something, and they just do it! The feel of these pedals is indescribable. As soon as I am able, I'm buying another pair to keep at home so I can use them whenever.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

I picked the bigfoot double up six months ago to replace my pearl singles that I bought 12 years ago. I purchased these because I wanted to have two singles for two kicks that I could swap to a double pedal without having to swap around springs if I wanted to play a double pedal on one kick. The springs are mounted inside the pedal housing. On pretty much all other pedals the springs are mounted externally and adjustments are more difficult. The Trick pedals adjust way easier and can be set exactly the same. Very well built and solid. Every part of these are machined perfectly and there is no slop between any of the parts. Linkage in the double pedal is the best I have ever seen with no delay. Can be converted from double to two singles in about 2 minutes. These pedals feel like an extension of my foot, but don't buy them thinking that they will instantly make you faster because they won't. Only practice and technique will get speed. If you are looking for pedals that can do anything or any style these are the best I have tried. Took me no time to get used to the feel and they feel exactly like I would want a pedal to feel if I could design my own. They are expensive, but anything good for your drums will be if it's quality. Now I want sb1 triggers to go with them....

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

This is an incredibly smooth and quick reacting pedal. However, it is definitely not for everyone. I also have a DW9002 pedal, and switching over to this took me a while to get used to. It is much quicker and has less drag on the slave pedal than any other double pedal I've ever played. However, it is hard to get the same power out of this as you would with some of the conventional double pedals.
The beaters that come with this are very cool and fully adjustable. Unfortunately they are not very loud. If my bass drum is not being mic'ed, I usually swap out the trick beaters for the more bulky DW beaters. This impacts the speed of the pedal, but definitely helps with volume.
The only real disappointment is that a pedal this expensive does not come with a case, and is too long to fit in most universal pedal bags.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

I bought this double pedal used on an impulse. I didn't buy them used from Musician's Friend, however, the pedals I received were in great condition and came in all the original packaging. They were easy to setup, and only took 10 minutes or so to get on the kit. Right out of the gate I turned the spring tension all the way up and angled the beaters so they hit flush. Beaters had an excellent thwap sound that I prefer. They are incredibly smooth with little to no noticable play in the linkage. The engineering in the spring housing is what sets these pedals apart from others. The unique design allows for much more efficent use of kick power. I can achieve higher speeds for longer durations with minimal adjustment time. Heel toe technique is ungodly on these. I will never buy another pedal unless it is Trick. Buy these.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

These may be the best pedals I have ever played. I pulled them out of the box, put them together and went to practice. Double kick at 190+ no problem right away. No lag at all in the left pedal. There is less impact as tempos increase, but it maintains way better than my DW9000s did. Axis pedals were even worse- they had little impact at any tempo. The trick pedals hit harder and stay sooother than any double pedal I have ever played. Especially at higher tempos- these pedals maintained their volume and clarity.
It is also nice that you can play these pedals as two single pedals or a double pedal. At a festival ( or stuck on a tour) where the kit has two kicks? Just remove the drive shaft and you have two single kick pedals.
As I said I just pulled these put of the box. There is an intimidating number of ways these things can be adjusted. Right now I have everything set on 5 ( in the middle ) for lack of a better term. I may leave them as they are,but it is also nice that they have markings in places so I can get the pedals back to the way they are if I change them. This also make it very easy to get both pedals playing the same.
It took me a few weeks to adjust from my DW 5000s to my DW 9000s. I feel I am playing the trick pedals better after 2 practices! Double kick hasn't felt this good since I dropped my second kick drum.
Provided I don't experience any mechanical problems ( and I don't see why I would), I don't think I'll ever be purchasing another pedal again.
Beater swing, pedal height, and spring tension are easily adjustable. You can adjust spring tension while you play, so it is easy to get the felling just right.
Seems very sturdy. I am rough on my gear. If it can be broken I will break it. At this price I will come bak here and complain as well. Stay tuned.......
They are ridiculously expensive, but seem worth it so far. we'll see how they hold up over time.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

When I hear someone say they don't like these pedals, I am totally amazed. I have only had these for one week, and I am doing heel toe drum rolls for the first time in my life. The pedal feels like part of my leg. In my opinion, when someone says they don't like this pedal, it is because they did not take the time to work with the pedal, (which I am drum rolling in a week)or just don't know how to play the drums. I have just spent several hundreds of dollars to re-new my vintage drumset, and I can tell you, this is the best investment I have made on it, or anything else I have brought lately. The money is no more than what other companies ask for their pedals that have tried to COPY TRICK, but they don't come close. This pedal works with your foot. Remember, you get what you pay for. I complained about having to spend so much money on a bass drum pedal too, but now that I have this pedal, as of the first day, I realized it was actually worth the money, so that I could be the best drummer I could be. These things will NEVER break, and there is no reason for TRICK drums to come out with another pedal, you can't get no better than this !!! Actually, when I opened the box, I pressed the pedal with my hand, and said "this truly is the best pedal in the world."

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

Ive owned this double pedal for 2 years now and its been pretty great. The adjustability is out of control, everything from stroke length to independent pedal board height is alterable. I mainly play metal where very fast double bass is the name of the game, and this pedal is good for that. I have my spring tension cranked all the way up with the pedal stroke at its shortest and the beaters at about a 45 degree angle and it just shreds.

Time for the bad. The driveshaft feels great and provides excellent smoothness to the slave pedal when it is brand new. Unfortunately mine has had its parts failure issues. Ive had u-joint bearings go bad that Ive had to
replace, not a huge deal for 2 years of heavy use. The big problem has been with where the hexagonal shafts
spline into the u-joint yokes and are secured with a roll pin. These splines eventually wear out and your slave pedal feels like stepping on crackers. My solution has been drilling and tapping a 10/32 hole in the yokes and putting an additional set screw in either end and that has solved the problem. Hopefully this will be revised by Trick at some point.

All in all its a great pedal, if not cost prohibitive. Other than the driveshaft issues a phenomenal piece of hardware.

These r amazing pedals, really fast, I had to loosen the springs, put a heavier beater on and set it in the power position to control the speed. These go fantastic when you slow them down , you actually get quicker. I had to also get heavy duty Velcro from the hardware shop to stop the slave pedal from slipping , once I did this it went even smoother and faster. Also wear spongy shoes as these really hurt my ankles at first.

Comments about Trick Drums Big Foot Double Pedal:

This pedal is pretty much flawless! Independent adjustment for the beater distance and footboard height makes it even more amazing than just the compression spring , direct drive and long footboard.
The spring tension is so easy to reach down and adjust for different musical needs. No picking the pedal up off the floor or laying on the floor to change it.
You want speed, you've got it! Power? It's got that too-more so than axis by far (even though axis is good).
I can't believe this was used. Looks new with the box and all the parts. Even though it should last forever, while I had the money, I bought a backup so I'd never be without!

I was reluctant to switch from 30 years of chain drive to direct, but the second I used this pedal it was like another universe. I love it. I used a dw9002 until it fell part (8 years)and wanted all the upgrades that Trick has. This is a specialized custom build folks, built by a drummer. If u are reluctant, like I was, don't be. This thing is a work of art. U will never need another pedal....and best of all....it is actually 2 single pedals so I have the option of using 2 bass drums......it is killer.

Over 38 years I've played on many pedals manifactured by Ludwig, Gibralter, Mapex, Pearl, and DW to name a few including many different models from each company. These are by far the best pedals I've ever used. Well worth the money. But, for the price you'd think they could include a case to protect the investment.

GET IT you won't be disappointed. I've been playing for 20 years and this is the best pedal I've layed feet on. Smooth, fast, and heavy hitting. Get yourself some velcro though. Way better than DW, Axis, Tama or anything i've tried. Built like a tank and I love the spring system, easy to set up and adjust. Money well spent.....you get what you pay for. I'll never own a different pedal
