Good Mike Stand

Comments about Ultimate Support LIVE-T Tripod Microphone Stand with 1-Hand Height Adjustment:

eere
I have owned this stand for over a yr. It has performed flawlessly and at the price you will not find another custom stand to match it.

Pros: One handed up and down. Looks good 2.
Lightweight and quick to setup and take down.

Cons: A little on the light side but still very sturdy.
Does not come with a gigbag.

Overall: I would purchase another one if this were damaged beyond repair. Although this is highly unlikely. I had to replace a leg due to my own stupidity but it only took a few seconds and has not happened again. ( I learned the first time) It is aluminum and not steel if you want one to beat up on get a steel stand.

Cheap Construction

Comments about Ultimate Support LIVE-T Tripod Microphone Stand with 1-Hand Height Adjustment:

There are too many pieces in this stand. The price is a little high for something of such low quality.
The one-hand raise/lower ability is nice if you're a guitar player, but not really an expense worth your while unless multiple people are using the stand at the same show and need to adjust it quite frequently. The boom arms (Sold Separately) with it are also nice as most guitarists/bassists want the extra space between their instrument and the stand itself. The fold-up legs are great for transport, but take up a lot of extra space on stage - not fun if you're in a small venue. I'd recommend a smaller weighted bass, which I think is available as an option for these stands.
I own for of these stands and three of them have incredibly loose heads. Where the microphone clip/boom arm attaches is loose which causes the entire top to tip. It's impossible to adjust unless you take the entire stand apart and put washers inside the raise/lower mechanism. Be careful if you do this though, as the small machine screws strip easily. I've had to drill-out several of them and replace them with stronger, stainless steel screws.
I'm a huge supported of Ultimate Support and their products are usually tour/professional quality. These stands have the price point of a tour-rig, but the cheap construction makes me wonder what happened to the Ultimate Support of yester-year.
