Simple, Easy To Use, Long Lasting

    By TJ Wuth

Comments about Ultimate Support MC-40 Mic Stand and Boom Package:

I don't know why the other reviewers had such problems with this stand, most likely user malfunction. We've been using 10 of these boom stands for an average of 15 hours per week for the last 3.5 years straight. The only problem I've had with the stand is when musicians try to over tighten the boom knob but that has been easily solved by expanding the hole in the placstic washer. The secret to making any mic stand last is to ALWAYS loosen the joints BEFORE you make an adjustment. Musicians that think you can just force it into possition will find that they will wear out the parts. My only complaint with this stand is that the base needs to be a bit heavier to help support heavier mics when the boom is fully extended. If you're looking for a stand to beatup because you think it's cool to thrash equipment on stage, then just get the cheapest stand you can find because you're a moron.

    Designed to FAIL

Comments about Ultimate Support MC-40 Mic Stand and Boom Package:

Well, this stand lasted about a month. The pivot point for the legs and the material that keeps the legs in place is a very small amount of plastic. After a month of use, mine broke. When I look closely at this design, I find it incredible that ANY manufacturer would make something this way. It is DESIGNED TO FAIL! Buy something else.

    The unstable stand

Comments about Ultimate Support MC-40 Mic Stand and Boom Package:

As a singer/drummer, I have to move this thing around a bit for songs where I sing and I don't. Every other week (1 weekly practice) the center post would work losse and I'd have to tighten it back up. More annoying then anything else. That's why I scored the quality as low. It should be a set and forget stand, but it's not for the price of it.

    poorly designed/unstable stand

    By John S

    from Oregon

Comments about Ultimate Support MC-40 Mic Stand and Boom Package:

Just bought one of these to add to my ON STAGE stands and immediately had problems with it tending to tip over after awhile. The problem is that it rotates at the bottom and each time it turns, the center post descends a little bit until it starts to high ceneter, especially if you are using it on carpet, like I have in my rehersal room. The last straw was when it fell over and smacked the mic right against the face of my Old Gibson acoustic and put a major ding on it's top. Don't buy this stand!! I took mine back today!
