A very useful, inexpensive piece of equipment... Nicest factor is its small size, & ability to clip on to a mic stand, far more discreet than having a full-blown music stand in front of you. However, as others have stated, it tends to break apart, & one of mine has lost the inner plastic sleeve, in the clip, making it not as easy to clip on securely. Also, where the ball fits in the socket has loosened, thus making the board less rigid in its position. I would certainly pay a little more (even double), for a model that is more "professional-quality", with a heavier duty means of attaching the two pieces. I'm actually a bit surprised, as long as this has been out, they haven't yet improved upon their design...

Great idea; a lightweight music stand that clips onto the performer's mike stand. The design is good, but the manufacturing weakness is in the plastic ball joint assembly. There just isn't enough tension on the ball to hold the tray in place. I wound up cementing mine to make the unit useful. I tried drilling for setscrews, but couldn't find any small enough. Like other reviewers, I'd pay more for such a unit that was of better quality construction and would bear the weight of more than two or three sheets of paper.

Comments about Up-Stage Clip-On Music Stand:

I bought a couple of these a few years ago. In fact I gave some out as gifts to my friends.

Very versatile little device! It works on both straight and boom mic stands and also on cymbal stands for drummers.

I use it to hold set lists at gigs and lyric/notation sheets at practice. Much better than taping set lists to monitors, the floor, behind speakers or on a traditional music stand. Just clip it to the mic stand and it's right there!

Get a couple and I guarantee you'll find multiple uses and be pleased with these little gems!

Comments about Up-Stage Clip-On Music Stand:

Have used at home and on stage. Dont't have to put stand on stage and clutter area. I like it, but if music sheet is clipped high on mic stand, can block visual to audience. That is awkward. So you have to swing it to the side a bit, so it is close enough to read. Of course, one could print in larger letters to make more readable from a distance. Also, should come with a top clip like a clothespin or something or otherwise, the paper can flop around. Overall, given the choices, if you get yourself a clothespin or two, spray glue on a piece of 8x10 cardboard for a larger backing, you're in business.

Comments about Up-Stage Clip-On Music Stand:

I was interested to pick up a music stand, but was open to this item for its felxibility. The cost to try it out was so economical and I figured why not. I took it to rehearsal and found the use really practical and flexible for my use of maybe 3-4 sheets to hold. The next time I returned to practice I noticed one of my band members using it to post the set lists. I decided to purchase 4 more just to have at hand and since it was so affordable. It won't replace a music stand, yet it will replace a piece of tape holding up a list or sheet of music.

Great product for price. I am a drummer and will clip on set. Must be careful in packing and moving gear, as this could break easy. For the price, just get another one when it happens.

A lot smaller than I expected. They want to fall of the stand if you put more than a few pages on them. I expected them to be a little sturdier and bigger.

Comments about Up-Stage Clip-On Music Stand:

Taken together the reviews give an accurate picture of this device. I would summerize by saying....
          - This is an extremely useful device and the only compact music holder I could find.
          - It will not support more then one or two pieces of paper, best use with a half sheet but works well with a whole sheet and can sort of hold two sheets.
          - It must be adjused carefullly while watching the location of the slots in the plastic joints to avoid breaking them. We have been using several of these for at lease a year and they are still working well, but you must be gentle and deliberate with adjustments.

Comments about Up-Stage Clip-On Music Stand:

This is an inexpensive way of holding lyrics, music sheet, set lists, etc. Very light and it holds well to the mic stand.
But the plastic clamp looks so fragile and stands out so that I'm always affraid I'm going to break it when I pack it with the rest of my gig bag.
Still, it gets the job done.
