I was recommended to try these sticks from a very famous drummer traveling through town. My first impression of these was overly big and clumsy when I saw them at the Music Store. After using them a couple of weeks, I realized that these were incredibly well balanced, and I loved the sounds that they were drawing from my cymbals. I am considering using these for just about every style of Music that I play, even though I have been taught to use thinner sticks for the lower volume styles. I have never considered using a stick of this size ever, but this one is so responsive, that it is probably going to be my "go to" stick for everything.
these sticks are really good for the price. i usually break sticks in one band pracice but these last at least three practices. really good sticks!
Ok Danny is a bigger guy so keep that in mind these sticks are huge like 2b also the deal is 1 pair of nylon tip and 3 pair wood tip. I found out the hard way. They are good strong sticks though, just remember to swipe the cymbal and not bash and all your sticks will last longer.
I love Danny Carey's signature series. The weight is my favorite aspect as they feel extremely balanced to me. I only wish they came in nylon tip. Plus, the handle feels good and is easy to hold. But, because they are wood and I hit hard, they break too easy for me and, therefore, are too expensive. If you have the money and like a bigger stick, compare them to 2B, and don't break sticks very often then this is the way to go.
In my humble opinion, these are the best sticks that money can buy. May not be the best for those drummers with small hands, but I can account for the meaty feel and stability of the hilt on these puppies. My only advice, go for the faster shipping option.
I have used these sticks for a couple years now. They fit well in the hand and are VERY well balanced. Now these are kinda big sticks.... but the balance and design easily make up for the size. They are very durable and will last a very long time. All around amazing sticks. Can't praise them high enough. The value pack lasts me months, and I play like a gorilla!
I've had these sticks for a while now, and all I can say is, I don't think I could use any other set of sticks...ever. The tapering near the end of the sticks just feels right, it feels natural. Buy these, you won't be disappointed.
I ordered this "value pack" after I noticed that the sticks pictured were nylon tipped. Well, after receiving them one of the four pair were nylon tip and so I had to call and request a refund. Customer svc was more than helpful as they told me to KEEP the sticks, they also refunded my money and so I ordered the nylon tip sticks by the pair. A little misleading by the photo...don't think you're getting all nylon tip. As for the stick itself... I love it!!!! it's very durable and the tip is great for accentuating my cymbals and HH articulation.
