These sticks are just perfect..The balance, the weight and diameter. I go through LOTS of stages with sticks trying to find the best fit feel for me and never felt like a stick was really meant for me. I usually use Promark 5A or Vic Firth 5A and switch off for certain style gigs. For a while i thought the Promark 5A was my style.. then relize as my technique started to mature and define its self, I started using the Vic 5A's for less head weight for detail to fast ghost note use..as a went through both of these numerous times..they still did not feel right and allow me to do what I felt I was capable of doing. I then came across Jojo's sticks having followed him for many years.. These sticks are ment for me. I was skepticle of the fact that they are shorter but that actually ended up being the best part about them in my opinion. I feel like I have COMPLETE control over these and not them over me. I am more relaxed now, even with both hands, and feel like fills are effortless. The diameter is perfect and the paint even feels great having felt wierd about that as well. I HIGHLY recommend these sticks if you are a drummer looking to control your stick work alot more and to feel in power over them a bit more..I never write these reviews, but usually just read them.. That means I couldnt couldnt more stoked about the level these sticks have brought me too. Thank you and enjoy!

Great quality from Vic Firth , but man are these sticks short and stumpy. They list the size , but until you get them in your hands, you , or at least I , didn`t realize how short they were . The short length makes them feel clumsy and too thick thick . The finish left a painted type feel as apposed to a wood type . Just one mans opinion , try them and see .

My favorite sticks!

Comments about Vic Firth Jojo Mayer Signature Drumsticks:

Extremely balanced and work very well with the Moeller Technique. This stick packs a lot of punch! I had the pleasure of meeting Jojo twice, he's extremely chill and very friendly! I'm about his height and have smallish hands too. These sticks fit my hands like no other. I would recommend these sticks to people with smaller frames, it's very important to use a stick that fits well with YOUR body and YOUR hands. If Vic Firth made a stick with the same dimensions, I would buy that too... It doesn't matter whose name is on it. The drumsticks you use should always be an extension of your arms.
I think the coating on the newer sticks has changed.. It used to be 'glossy', now it's like a regular white paint, which I actually like better!
I wish drumsticks didn't have to cost $10.

Comments about Vic Firth Jojo Mayer Signature Drumsticks:

In general I love these sticks but I find the difference in weight of different pairs frustrating. I have 3 pairs, and the weights of 2 sticks are 111g, 101g, 110g. The sticks themselves vary by max of 2g. I bought them in this order and have been disappointed by the quality control, i find the lighter 101g pair loses all the feel of the JoJo stick that I really liked. It is possible this was just a dud pair but wondering what other peoples sticks weigh and if they've had the same problem? Maybe the formula/materials of stick changed?

Whilst I love the feel and control of stick playing grooves and in/around snare drum I do find my reach to cymbal slightly too short. I can't decide whether to change stick and get used to longer model.

Comments about Vic Firth Jojo Mayer Signature Drumsticks:

I have been playing these sticks for a few years and I have tried to find a pair that give me even more feel but nothing tops the Jojo Mayer sticks. What I like best is that they actually get a little wider toward the butt of the stick and when you're playing using push/pull of Moeller that continuous taper towards the back makes these drumsticks really feel like a part of your hand. Give them a try.

Very low on weight.. There really light and perfect for my Latin grooves.. Durable because I am not taking easy on them with my cowbell.. Overall perfect sticks for a player that does a long lasting beat or stick tricks

Comments about Vic Firth Jojo Mayer Signature Drumsticks:

After going through god knows how many different sticks I decided to try these. They are a little shorter than I've been using which turned out to be a good thing. Great balance and weight. I play mostly rock, but have been getting more into Jazz and these have been great for both.

Comments about Vic Firth Jojo Mayer Signature Drumsticks:

hey i noticed someone saying there different weight... i watched a doc on how these sticks are made... since all wood has different density's akll wood has a different weight... so all these sticks are the same size and they are matched with a stick of similar weight... like within .2 of a gram... not only that but when hitting the same piece of control wood both sticks must create the same sound... thats what they mean when they say sonically matched... so if you mix a stick from a different package it will be a different density and therefore weight... all good sticks use the same process but don't put it on their box for some reason... so the only thing i can suggest if you really want perfect feel sound and weight only use the stick that came in the same case as the other... don't mix sticks unless your like me and don't mind holding 1 gram extra weight in one hand
