The perfect accessory to a Pedaltrain, the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ may seem pricey at first, but is well worth it. Each output is fully isolated putting an end to the transfer of DC noise from pedal to pedal. DIP switches allow multiple voltage options for each output. Outputs 7 and 8 have an adjustable "sag" feature to mimic a dying battery in transistor based overdrives. Integrates perfectly with the Pedaltrain Jr, PT-1, PT-2, and PT-Pro when mounted underneath.

The wah issue is a big deal for me. I have to give a lower rating because of it. I sold my unit and bought a DC Brick and couldn't be happier. That unit can power 7 pedals at 9V and 3 pedals at 18V at the same time. The Pedal Power can't do that. While it's nice that the Pedal Power can run some pedals with power consumption needs that are outside the norm, most pedals are 9 or 18V, which makes the DC Brick a great option. And since it doesn't make my wah pedals hum, it's even better, for a lot lower cost.
Nice flexibility on the different voltage settings. Can power any number and combination of pedals that some other units might not be able to accomplish.

One drawback is the lack of dedicated 18V outlets. You have to take up 2 outlets with a special cable to power a pedal at 18V.
In general, this unit power pedals very cleanly and has low noise...unless you're using a wah pedal in its proximity. I've built two pedalboards using this supply and on both, the wah pedal picks up a very loud hum when engaged. Voodoo Lab says it's because the wah's inductor isn't properly shielded. While that may be the case, other power supplies do not seem to have this problem. Same pedals, same boards, but using the DC Brick? No hum at all. I have to give low marks on quality if they couldn't properly sheild the power supply so it doesn't interfere with a wah. Voodoo's answer was that I should invest in MuMetal foil and plating to sheild my wah. How about Voodoo invests in that same sheilding and encase their unit in it? This issue makes the power supply useless for me.
Because it is able to power some pedals that other boards can't: TC Nova Delay or Nova Mod, for instance, and some Line6 pedals, this is a good value. But I have to take some points off for not being able to use a wah near it.

Got this to power my pedals along with Pedaltrain Jr. Yes, it's expensive but if you are a tone freak it's a no-brainer. There is absolutely no extraneous noise from my signal chain and I don't have to replace batteries. Using George L's patch kit along with this will put a smile on your face, believe that. Biggest plus: Made in the U.S.A. and a 5 year warranty.

I got it and started using it with the same guitar, amp and pedals I own and I swear my tone got a little clear and stronger.

I have never had problems with noise or hiss but this thing cut it all completely. And the best part is I only have to plug one piece of gear when I gig.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ Power Supply:

I've read a lot of reviews on this and the most consistant complaint was the size of this thing. Too big a lot of reviewers mentioned. Really?! Too big? I'm no pedal board expert, but this thing looks appropriate in size to me. If your pedal board can't handle it, build your own pedal board, or buy another power source. I love not having to buy batteries anymore or worrying about them fading out at practice or a show. And there's no noise!

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ Power Supply:

Great build, seems very sturdy - small footprint. It replaced a cheap SKB board, and it now lives on another SKB board that was salvaged after the "power" part went away.
The acid test will be this summer, until then it's light gigging and playing at church. My summer gig it is commonly 100 degrees on stage for weeks on end, outdoors!
The market is crowded for this type of item, and making a good choice took quite a bit of research.

So. I'm not disappointed, but...my OG '67 Fender Bassman, while plugged into 110 outlet on Voodoo box, was really noisy. Plugged into wall, noise reduced by 85%+. I'm also using a MXR smart gate, followed by MXR delay, TRex reverb, Ibanez TS-9 Turbo. It's still convenient and I would recommend. Practical and essential. Thumbs up.

Comments about Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ Power Supply:

I put this purchase off for too long. One concern was the close proximity of PP2 and Cry Baby 535Q, and the sometimes reported noise. While there is a bit of wash or white noise when the wah is used in conjunction with distortion pedals, it is not nearly as great as I've feared, even on the smaller PT Jr board. The befits far outweigh this slight noise gain, because each pedal is cleaner, clearer and more powerful than when using a well known daisy chain power supply.

I have no transistor type fuzz boxes, where the SAG feature is said to be most effective, but by starving my modded Maxon OD9 (Tube Screamer) to around 6 volts I was able to attenuate it to dial in the effect I desired, perfectly. I also have my wah plugged into the other SAG output for when I want a more subtle tone shaping effect rather than the full on wah effect, and it's easy to turn on or off by the tiny switches on the bottom of the unit, which are easy to access.

I've replaced the power cord with a longer, heavy duty one, and it's an improvement I recommend Voodoo upgrade to, as the one it comes with isn't very long.

One other change I'd suggest is placing the two SAG intensity controls in an accessible location when mounted to a Pedaltrain board. As it is, they can not be accessed once mounted. Thankfully they can be preset and then flipped on or off from the bottom.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.
