Great speaker, made/assembled in USA and a great value. Every bit as good as Celestion at 1/2 price. WGS says this model speaker sounds best when mixed with their Vet 30. I have a cab with Celestion Vintage 30s so I tried these out buying two and installing them in an X pattern. The 4x12 sounded great with the Vintage 30 but with these bad boys installed is now incredible. They sounded great out of the box. After about an hour or two of jamming hard it's tone changed a bit getting warmer. I have about 20 hours on item they sound fantastic.

I've tried several heads through this cab -- Engl Blackmore, Carvin X100B REISSUE, Marshall JCM800 (80s vintage) and Marshall JVM 210. I also tried my Orange CR120 SS head which really did well with this cab. All the heads were great through this cab with the Carvin really sounding the best. I was playing classic rock and ithe Carvin nails that hot rodded Classic Rock tone. I think any quality head would scream with this speaker combo.

In short, WGS was spot on with their assessment on how good this match would be. WGS is top shelf all the way and it's affordable. I'm not about to right off Celestion because I really like some of their offerings -- ie Greenbacks. But, these Made in the USA speakers are as good and outside of the Greenback, I would certainly try the WGS equivalent first.

I needed two speakers for my 2x12 guitar cab and after reading the reviews about pairing the ET65 with the Veteran 30 in which it seems everyone loved the combination of the two in the same cab I decided to buy the pair and give it a go. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! The combo sounds awful. Both are 16 ohm and the cab is wired in parallel for an 8 ohm load so that's ok. The Veteran 30 sounds great but the ET65 is muddy and bland. What an awful speaker. I checked the components of the speaker and it is functioning properly. Maybe this speaker if for really loud metal tunes. I don't know but for a clean tone for country and jazz this speaker is a nightmare. This combo of the Veteran 30 and the ET65 is not good for anything. I am going to get another Veteran 30 and I will use the ET65 for target practice.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers ET65 12" 65W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I bought 2 of the 8 ohm ET-65 to replace the stock speakers (Celestion 70eighty's) in my Laney IRT212 cabinet. I have 2 main heads that I use (a
Marshall JVM205H & Carvin X100B). The speakers went in extremely easy, no modifications to the cabinet was needed. I did notice when I compared the Celestion 70eighties with the WGS ET-65 that the WGS speaker had a larger magnet, and had a noticeable weight difference. The WGS also has a deeper cone.

After installing the WGS ET-65 I started to break them in with my JVM205H. I played them on the clean channel at a low volume for about an hour, before turn the volume up. I still wasn't sold on the tone difference, because the highs were extremely bright (almost to bright) the mids were great but the bottom end was not even noticeable. The next morning I continued to break them in turning the volume up more (about the same as some speaking loudly) and played for about 30 minutes before upping the volume again. This is when the tone of the speaker started to change. the highs seemed still focused but not as harsh as before, and the bottom end started show up. I have about 3 hours on them now and the more I play them the better they get. I can't wait till I get about 10 hours on them and see how they sound.

Bottom line I am extremely pleased with these speakers, they have made my JVM205H come alive. I cant wait to see how they will change the tone of my Carvin X100B.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers ET65 12" 65W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I recently picked up a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue as I love the clean tones. However, it did not like to play well with my dirt pedals. The stock Jensen speaker emphasized too much of the high frequencies and made things sound a bit harsh.

The ET-65 was recommended to me by several people online, so I thought I would give it a try. I have used WGS speakers in the past with fairly good results, but have been using a lot of Scumback and Weber speakers lately. I was a little hesitant because of the attractive price of the speaker. I mean, how good could it be? It isn't even in the same price bracket as most of the other offerings I normally considered...

Well, this speaker did not dissappoint at all! Now I have all the beautiful clean tones I love, but without all the high frequency sizzle with my dirt pedals that was driving my ears crazy. The bottom end is much tighter and handles the low end from the DRRI much better than the stock speaker, and the high frequency is a bit smoother but not muddy at all. There is a little more midrange as well which lends a warmth to the overall tone.

I could not be happier with my purchase, and the speaker isn't even fully broken in yet! Absolutely a "must try" for a Deluxe Reverb if you are in the market.

This speaker sounds full with nice lows, but not muddy what so ever. I was on the fence after being a Celestion user for 30 years. I am glad I took the chance on these. I love the vintage label also. Adds class to your cabinet. I use these in a 4X12 Albion. It sounds great with my Mesa Recto-Verb and my Axe Fx rig. I hear about people using the ET65s with Veteran 30s. I am not big on mixing speakers. My 4X12 Albion birch cab sounds just right now. These will not be too dark having four of them in your cab.

I replaced the stock custom made 8 ohm eminence driver in my 20 watt SwanPro with this 16ohm version. The SwanPro has a 16 ohm tap and this is a good solution for getting slightly better cleans out of a high gain amp, by using all of the windings in the output transformer a slightly improved headroom can be realized- It was not as radical on this amp as my Matchless lightning but still an improvement classy highs and a defined mids, good tight lows -great speaker

This was based off the original Celestion G12-65 speaker, but I think it works better than the original, at least for my purposes, which is to tame the piercing high end of the Fender DRRI, without losing the true Fender sound. It works well in other amps too, as its original was primarily used in 80's Marshall quad cabs. I just purchased a second one for an extension cab, and it works great in all three amps.

WGS is a relative newcomer to the amp market, but imo, they are second to none and have become my go-to company. Their competetive pricing is just a big bonus, not my primary reason for choosing them. I've been through a dozen or so Eminence speakers and a half dozen models of Celestions; WGS has become my #1 guitar amp speaker. I just purchased a modded Fender HRD, and one selling point to me was that it comes with a WGS 50 watt Invader, a stronger type of Greenback. I hope I like it as much as the ET-65, though it has its work cut out to match it, imo.

My rhythm guitarist has been playing a hot rod deluxe for years -- and it's been hurting my ears that whole time with thin flat treble with zero dynamics. I finally took the bull by the horns and installed this for him. Wow what an improvement. I also put in a new set of JJ 6L6s and some new preamp tubes with lower gain tubes (12at7 and 12au7) in slots 1&2. The amp sounds warm, dynamic and musical with a 3D quality. The harsh sounding overdrive is now completely useable. Totally recommend this to anyone with a HRD that wants to unlock the potential of this amp without having to do electronic modifications.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers ET65 12" 65W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I installed this speaker in my original '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp as the original Oxford was shot. I am very pleased with the sound so far. Smooth mids and pleaseant highs. No flabiness on the low end.

The WGS line is high quality and economical to boot. A rarity these days.
