Just got the speaker today and normally I wait to write a review, but the improvement this speaker made in my 1976 SF Champ is simply awesome. First, it was super easy to install. Took me all of 15 minutes. The speaker holes lined up perfectly with the lugs coming out of the amp's baffle and the speaker's cable contacts were in exactly the same place as the original. Like it was made specifically for a Champ. The speaker looked very well made, with a nice cone, solid housing and the magnet on this speaker is huge compared to the stock speaker. My ratchet handle got stuck on it as I was installing it. Took some force to free it. Then came the test drive, with the amp volume set to 4. Wow. I used my 1987 Gibson LP Standard with Seymour Duncan SH-59's. I was immediately struck by the fullness across the tonal spectrum. Chimey treble with harshness removed, beautiful full midrange and tight and powerful bass without the flub and muddiness I had before. The guitar just rang and sang. Then I dimed the amp and the natural overdrive was impressive. So much better than the original speaker. No harsh high end anymore, great tight bass and a pleasant roar that makes you want to hit power chords all day. Solo notes were clear and distinct. Plus, the speaker cleaned up great when turning the guitar volume control down; sounding just like it did on lower amp volume levels. And I still have to break this puppy in and try it with my pedalboard!! This is the absolute best thing you can do for your SF Champ if it still has the stock speaker in it. Highly recommend this speaker!!

It's a solidly made speaker, just not for me. I put it in my Fender Champion 20, and the stock speaker could do lows much better. The stock speaker is more like a T-75, with a larger dustcap. This one had a smaller dustcap than the stock one, but a larger driver. In short, it's more like a V30 in that it's focused on the lower mids, but the mids sound very boxy with this particular amp. This is all dependent on my amp, and my taste, so it may sound great in a Frontman or Mustang. For a Champion, it's a no-go for me.

Put this in my Bugera V5.Iv'e tried a couple of jensens but this speaker really does sound better than both of them. It does breakup alittle sooner, but in a good way. For the price i would recommend it as an upgrade.

Not my cup of tea for Tone. Sounded small and muddy. I like my Italian Jensens more, swapped back to my Mod8-20.

Warehouse G8C in my '79 Vibro Champ. Not too thrilled.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G8C 8" 20W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

I put this G8C in my 79' Vibro Champ because I damaged the Weber that I had in it. I took a chance for half the price of a new Weber and it was a big disappointment. It sounded thin and at higher volume, the breakup just sounded too fuzzy and cheap. It just wasn't a good compliment for this particular amp. You'll be better off spending a bit more for something a lot better.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G8C 8" 20W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

Bought this to replace the OEM speaker in my Fender Frontman 20. The swap takes just a few minutes with just a screwdriver, no soldering is necessary. The speaker makes a big difference in sound quality and is an inexpensive upgrade worth the price.

I put one of these in my 1960 Gibson Skylark GA-5 and it sounds great. Much louder than before and the clarity is great. Chimey and clear at lower volumes, but roars when you crank up the amp. Makes my Skylark a Tweed Champ killer. And the price is right!

I bought this speaker as a replacement for my old Fender Frontman 15G blackface that was my first amp. I figured I'd use this speaker in the amp and the stock could be made into a sub kick. I didn't account for how great this amp would sound with this new speaker. Warmed it up nicely and smoothed out the tone. made me fall in love with that little amp all over. Highly recommend for your 8'' practice amp

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers G8C 8" 20W American Vintage Guitar Speaker:

Not so many 8" 8ohm speakers to choose from, I stumbled on this gem by sheer accident and MF had the best price w/ free shipping. I've become a huge fan of small amps, not only for recording, but as an easier schlepp for
gigs. I was looking for a replacement for the stock speaker in my SS Fender Tweed Bronco (1995, made in USA, Champ-ish sounding amp when dialed in right), and I gave this speaker a shot. When it arrived (quickly) I picked up the box and immediately thought they had sent a 10" speaker or gold bullion by mistake, it was so obviously heavy. A side-by side comparison with the Fender stock speaker was amusing. The G8C was deeper, sported a larger magnet, much sturdier frame- it looked like it was built for heavy combat. I gleefully installed it in the amp. With my standard home practice settings (boost channel engaged, gain at 2, volume at 4 -very juicy clean) I fired up the Bronco and was awed. Had to immediately turn the volume down a notch, the speaker was brimming with articulate warmth, w/much higher clean headroom. It sounded fine right out of the gate, and after 10 hours of medium volume play has bloomed a bit more. Lots of crisp bottom (for an 8) the highs are smooth and breakup organic.
It has given my Bronco a bigger pair of balls.
There, I said it…hope Mommy isn't reading this.

I bought this so I could turn the stock speaker in my Frontman 15 that I've had since I started playing guitar 19 years ago. Even in a small Solid state amp this speaker made a real difference. It has a better magnet and construction for sure. Better bass response and a warmer tone smoothed out the distortion tone as well. Found myself enjoying the tone out of a 15w 8" amp.
