Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

WGS makes no secret that this is a Vintage 30 clone. WGS didn't seek to copy directly. What it did what use the Vintage 30 as a starting point and tweek the sound from there to give it WGS unique sound. You won't get a perfect clone, but something WGS considers a better product. Celestion promotes its product as Temple of Tone. (That is, if your Temple is Buddhist MIC.) Mine sounded terrible out of the box, but after about 5 minutes it needed to get worn-in and now sounds great. I played decades with inferior speakers not knowing that an upgrade would solve a lot of problems in quality. WGS has replaced all of my speakers and I now own eight total. The Retro combined with ET 65 is the best possible product you can do. The mids coming from ET 65 is haunting. I also have Veteran 30(s) and if you go to WGS site there is a forum if you want to decide between the two. The Vet 30 is even a further perfection of Vintage 30, but the Retro is closer in tone to the Vintage 30.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

It's a Vintage 30 clone, or so they would have you believe. I've had Vintage 30's in lots of different amps and it was my "go to" speaker, regardless of open or closed back cabs. However, 150 frog skins a pop is a bit ridiculous. Heard great reviews about WGS and picked up the Retro 30 for my VK112 (1st gen). Holy smokes, all the tone of a Vintage 30 but...better!! The mid peak is killer, better bottom end response and the highs are sparkling. Seriously though, the mid peak on this speaker ROCKS!!! Really comes alive on the dirt channel. Trust me, for 69 bones you won't find a better speaker on the market. I now ONLY run WGS products in my cabs due to being economical and sounding friggin AWESOME!!!

I bought this to use with a 5150, it pairs up great for high gain tones that require a lot of more articulation and clarity. It is a HUGE improvement over stock valveking speakers on their own. Funny thing is it also blends with them extremely well. Definitely going to try out other WGS models.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I've owned the retro 30 speaker for about a year now, and I went out and purchased a celestion vintage 30 for a potential "upgrade"....Oh my god...I HATED the vintage 30, so I stuck my retro 30 back where it belongs, in my dsl40c (just a forewarning, this is just my opinion, my experience may not reflect your experience)

Bass responsiveness is aggressive, present, but also tight. The mid range? I've never noticed it being prominent or subtle, it sits well in-between the lows and highs (might be more low-mids than high mids?). Either way, the sound as a whole sits VERY well. I've heard people comment that the speaker sounds digital, and at least to my experience in respect to the stock 70/80, celestion vintage 30, and retro 30, the retro 30 sounded the most "authentic", and held up the best in distortion and cleans.

Point being? It's a He11 of a speaker! Literally, I think in the future I'm going to steer clear of celestion, their speakers have been dismal in my experience, as well as overpriced, for the price this thing is a steal.

This speaker was a great improvement to an already great amp.
I installed it in a Fender Supersonic 22 and it really woke up the amp. Great sounding and great quality. Thanks to Vaughn Skow for the demo!

I replaced the stock Fender Special Design speaker in my Fender Supersonic 22. The retro 30 added the sparkle back on the top end and tightened up the bass response. It's especially noticeable at higher volumes. If it sounds this good out of the box, I can't wait until it's broken in.

This speaker raised the level, sound quality of my Blackstar HT Club 40. Great sound, responds amazing. Done with Celestion. Great product!
The packaging was fantastic, considering I ordered replacement tubes as well. Don't need the tubes now, the speaker did the trick.

Paired the Retro 30 with an ET65 in my Blackstar HT60 completely changed the sound. This speaker is great for bringing life to an old amp or to perk up your tone. I get both great cleans and distorted tones with the Retro 30 ET65 combo. I couldn't be happier with this speaker.

Put this in an open back, Ampeg VH-70 1x12 combo amp. The original speaker was a Celestion G12K-85. Great speaker but kind of neutral sounding and dark in that amp. The Retro brightened it up but retains a nice tight low end. It just sounds sooo good on the gain channel. Crunchy with great highs that aren't harsh. It really is a better sounding Vintage 30. The Ampeg VH series amps are some of the best solid state amps ever made but can sound average or amazing depending on your cab and speakers. I have swapped many over the years and this speaker gives me that 80's George Lynch, Ratt tone I want. Great quality and very helpful service at WGS
