Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

Bought the retro 30 to put in an old solid state combo to make into an extension cabinet. Wavered a lot between the wgs retro 30, the wgs veteran 30 and the celestion vintage 30, but could not justify the price premium of the celestion and after installing the wgs retro 30 I have no regrets whatsoever. Right out of the box sounds so much more articulate and responsive than the celestion 100 watt I pulled out of the amp. Our drummer remarked that the retro 30 made it sound like my old speaker was stuck behind cardboard and filled with marbles. A nice and bright speaker but does not lose the low end and sounds impressive on the overdriven channel. The speaker housing with its hammered metallic looking paint job looks awesome, even if nobody else will ever seen it once installed. Very impressed with WGS speakers and for the price it's worth taking a chance on it.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I run a Peavey XXX cab with a Peavey Triumph 120 head. The cab has a lot of bottom end and I found I needed to boost the mids and highs on the heads EQ and cut some bass just to balance out the tone. I mostly use one side of the cab as it can run stereo and I can choose which side I run. To the rescue, the WGS Retro 30 75w, it added strong mids and a high end sparkle that the previous speakers couldn't manage. They sound killer now paired with the other XXX 75w speaker. Very full sounding and I was able to move the mids and highs back down on the head to mostly neutral. The Retro 30 is a great answer to cabs that tend to be a little bass heavy. I ran the speaker by itself in a 1x12 enclosure with a Peavey Mini Colossal and it just didn't have enough bottom end to sound good. This speaker shines being paired with beefy bass heavy/dark speakers. I will be ordering another one for the other side of the cab, I'm tickled.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

I bought this to use with a 5150, it pairs up great for high gain tones that require a lot of more articulation and clarity. It is a HUGE improvement over stock valveking speakers on their own. Funny thing is it also blends with them extremely well. Definitely going to try out other WGS models.

Comments about Warehouse Guitar Speakers Retro 30 12" 75W British Invasion Guitar Speaker:

WGS makes no secret that this is a Vintage 30 clone. WGS didn't seek to copy directly. What it did what use the Vintage 30 as a starting point and tweek the sound from there to give it WGS unique sound. You won't get a perfect clone, but something WGS considers a better product. Celestion promotes its product as Temple of Tone. (That is, if your Temple is Buddhist MIC.) Mine sounded terrible out of the box, but after about 5 minutes it needed to get worn-in and now sounds great. I played decades with inferior speakers not knowing that an upgrade would solve a lot of problems in quality. WGS has replaced all of my speakers and I now own eight total. The Retro combined with ET 65 is the best possible product you can do. The mids coming from ET 65 is haunting. I also have Veteran 30(s) and if you go to WGS site there is a forum if you want to decide between the two. The Vet 30 is even a further perfection of Vintage 30, but the Retro is closer in tone to the Vintage 30.
