The first one I tried was in a Mesa Boogie F-50 combo. Wow! It made a very big difference. It does exactly what it says. For me it eliminates the need for any sort of amp stand and there's no need to tilt your amp to hear it. It really does disperse a much fuller range of frequencies in all directions. I've recommended these to everyone ever since I tried my first one. I just got an Egnater Rebel 30 combo and now I'm going to order a Beam Blocker for it. Try it. You will like it.
Simple product. Not really any "features" to discuss.
On rare occasion you might get a Beam Blocker with a little rattle on lower notes. But not very often, and when you do get one that rattles it is very, very easily fixed. But Weber needs to look at this issue. DO NOT LET THIS STOP YOU FROM BUYING ONE!!! It is a great product.
For the small price you pay it makes a HUGE difference. If it were double this price it would still be worth it.

I used the blocker on both a jensen P12Q and Weber 12 in my Fender 57 Deluxe and on A Fender 12 and WSG on my 65 Deluxe ...both amps and blockers resulted in a buxzzing on certain frequency notes .. so distictive I thought it was tube related or circuitry related .. I actually didn't suspect the blockers until I finally determined that that was the last remaining possibility and pulled them out.. first the 57 Deluxe - buzzing gone then the less buzz prone 65 Deluxe and realized these things just were THE source of my issues ... I reinstalled with spacers.. loosened the mounting, tightened the speaker screws, etc and the thing buzzed every time. Finally I held one in front of the amp and heard the cone of the blocker vibrating to the notes in question ... great idea but very poor construction ...weren't even worth sending back, but my questions and complaints went unanswered from Weber ... they still make great speakers and I just bought another set for my Vibrolux, but these blockers are a waste of money ...
The 'idea' is solid and the 'good' reviews bear this out, but in practice 9and carefully following Webers instruction) yielded an unusable product due to the sever buxxing at certain frequencies
I'll assume my buzzing issue was related to the fact that the manufacture of the device was defective (mind you I bought 2!)

Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
I am a professional guitarist working for years and was fed up with the flashlight dispersion pattern of virtually all guitar amps. On the sides of the amp you hear very little and directly in front of the amp the ear piercing "ice pick". These "Beam Blockers" disperse the high end saving the front row audience from the pain of a loud guitar amp. For years I have dreamed of a product like this and am very pleased with its effectiveness.

Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
This thing is a great invention. It works great and installed quickly and easily. I put it in a Carr Rambler which has amazing highs but tends to be a little beamy. It has an Eminence Red Coat speaker. Right in front of the speaker the highs were too much for the audience but not enough for me to hear off axis a bit while on stage. After installing the Beam Blocker, all the highs were dispersed and it sounds great everywhere. Now I can turn it up again w/o getting complaints about my volume. Every guitar player's dream, right? Don't forget to pull the little silver label off before you install it. It shows through the grill cloth. I had the pleasure of installing it twice due to this.

Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
It seems to tone down the bite from speakers a bit, but since I started using these Weber Beam Blockers I dont get complaints about being too loud anymore. It doesn't mute the sound it redirects it. I read that someone was experiancing a buzzing sound, could be too close to the surround, just a guess but speakers and cabs are all made a bit different. Could be it needed to be mounted on the outside or from the front? I tried tilting the amps back but that didn't help. My amps definitly sound better to me. As far as the audience goes, no more complaints, just compliments now.
Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
Installed in Mesa Nomad. The C90 always had a piercing, nasty highend to my ears. The beam blocker made it sound like a whole new speaker. Got rid of the harshness. Great improvement!
Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
I got one for my Ampeg Reverbrocket with a 12" Celestion Vintage speaker. And I'm ordering another for my Fender Superchamp with a 10" speaker. The Superchamp also has a Weber Alnico speaker in it which I'll review later.
It takes the harshness out of the whole range of what you can hear. Very smooth and rounded out sound. The "ice-pick in your ear treble" is NO MORE. Doesn't mess with your tone settings.
Good construction quality. No defects that I can see. It's made in the USA!!! -- So get out your flags and wave 'em high!
Where else can you get an item at this price that does as much?

Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
It definitely does what it's supposed to. It amkes my Eganter 1x12 cabinets sound so much better from all angles. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that you they produce some kind of rattle/vibration noise when you go low at high volumes. Distorted you can't tell but clean it's very apparent. Everything is secure and the sound wasn't there before. It really makes these unusable.
Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
I have a 60W Mesa Boogie Mark IIB 1x12 combo that I purchased brand new in 1980. It has always been ear piercing, even at low volume levels the high end can be assaulting. I heard about these beam blockers and was curious. Decided it was worth a shot. Turns out that was a very good decision. The beam blocker does exactly what they claim it does, and it was very easy to install. I can't beleive how much tone I can get out of this amp now, and I can crank it up far louder than I ever dared to before installing the beam blocker. I've been searching for the solution that Beam Blockers provide for 30 years, and when I found it, it only cost $17.50. If your amp has this problem, take a chance on beam blockers.
Comments about Weber Speakers Beam Blocker High Frequency Diffuser:
It does exactly what it is designed to do. smooth out the highs, make your sound more omi-directional, so that what you hear, is also what your audience hears. Simple and perfect.
