After reading all the positive reviews of this speaker, I purchased it to replace the original "Fender" speaker in my 37+ year old Vibrochamp. I didn't think the original speaker was that bad until I heard this one. It really opened things up. No more slightly muffled sound that I was attributing to the fact this is only an 8" speaker in a 5 watt amp. Crystal clear at low volumes and nice breakup when cranked.

I bought this speaker for my Bugera V5. Very dark sounding amp with the stock speaker. Although the Bug is a 4 ohm amp I went for an 8 ohm because I had used some 8 ohm cabs and liked the sound. Hooked up the Weber and all my nice chugging bass was gone. The high ends were beautiful and a joy to the ear, but all of bass was gone. I put the Bug speaker back in but ran a wire to the Weber and kept trying it because the upper frequencies were so nice sounding. I finally tried them together and it was magic. All my bass was there and the upper mids and highs were too. With double the speaker surface, more air got moved without losing the 8" sound. I loved it. Built a custom cab with an open back and partially open bottom to fit over the handle of the Bug and it is an astounding sounding amp now. I use a Telecaster mainly and can now use all pup positions. Before only the bridge could be used and still the highs were missing. In a sealed larger cab with good wood, this speaker might produce some bass. By itself it is a tenor speaker. I am happy with my purchase.

My old speaker was poked through with a pen by my son who at the time was 3 years old. The speaker was an inexpensive alternative to a new amp. I'm glad I found it, it sounds great and handles volume changes very well.

It is the best speaker I have tried in the Champ. A black face champ is never going to sound like a big amp. It does what it does well.
I have tried a couple of 10 speakers in the black face fender champ. A Weber 10a125-0. A Weber special order speaker that I put together. A 10 jlb e110. I built a baffle to accomplish this. A 8" Celestion G10-L. The Weber Signature 8 alnico. But the best speaker for the amp that I have tried is this speaker. The amps are dark. These amps were designed for an 8" speaker and the Alnico 8S brightens the amp up a bit. Just a bit. But more so when you turn it up. I am very happy with the speaker and its dirt cheap and the best I've tried. I'm not going to try any others.
It's a Weber speaker. I like Weber speakers. They are built well. Never had a bad one. Just maybe a mismatch for a particular amp.

I installed this 8" Weber in my modded Fender Champ 600. The original Fender 6" speaker was marginal at best, not really a guitar speaker. I replaced that with a Jensen 6" MOD Series and that was a major improvement in the sound. Now I have the 8" Weber 8S installed in the amp and it sounds fantastic, an improvement over the Jensen. The amp really came alive and can be pushed much harder without the speaker farting out. I recommend this upgrade to anyone with a Fender Champ 600 or the Gretch equivalent. You will have to make a new baffle out of 1`/4 " ply for the speaker, but well worth it. While you are at it, change the restrictive grill cloth. .

i highly recommend this speaker. it made my vintage 1966 fender vibro champ sound way better. a huge upgrade at an incredible price. you won't believe the difference it makes in your amp.

This is a pro level replacement for any 8" speaker. Most small amps come with cheap speakers and this would improve the sound of almost any amp it is used in. The advantage of the alnico magnet is it gives the speaker a "bigger" sound at low volumes and provides richer tone. A great speaker.
