I'm not too impressed with this stand, I own two of them and both of them have dents all over them, and because the boom arm doesnt have any grip on it, there is nothing for the teeth to grab onto, so it turns over everytime I play. I am looking into Gibraltar Hardware right now.
I got this stand a few weeks now and I?ve found it to be quiet sturdy. It may be a medium weight stand but it?s worth its money. I?m currently using this stand on my suspended flood.
This is the good stuff. Heavy weight and well designed. I wish it had a counterweight system, but that only comes into play on my Zildjian 22" K Ride, which is very heavy. These will be the last (I have 3) stands that you will buy and at a price you would pay for mediums.
The boom arm has no grip on it so it keeps sliding to the side every time I play it... it also tips a lot with a ride. I own four of these and sadly it was a waste.
Yamaha. What else is there to say. As an active musician in the heavy metal field for over 20 years. Yamaha will not disappoint. Sturdy, solid, enough said.
If your looking for sturdy hard working hardware, this is it. Heavey duty, can stand up to any type of use you can put it through. Yamaha hardware is the only thing I use. I loive it.
Overall it's a pretty good stand. I own 3. I especially love the extra thick felts that come with the stand. Take extra preventive maintenance with cleaning the threads on ALL release bolts at each section, as dirt and grime will strip the inside threads of the stand.
A very nice stand for any type of cymbal. It is worth the price!
